  • Page 4 Attention before you start Assemble the Babboe outside or in a room with a door, which is wider than 35 inches (88 cm). The Babboe is 35 inches wide while an average door is only 31 inches wide. 35 inches (88 cm) !
  • Page 5 The Battery: Before rst use: The Babboe E-Power comes with the pictured charger for the Protanium ® Lithium Polymeer battery. The Protanium battery that comes with your Babboe E-Power can only be charged with this charger. Using another charger will impact the capacity of your battery and will end the warranty on the battery.

    Assisted pedalling Standard assistance Your Babboe E-Power is equipped with assisted pedalling. Sensors in the crank arm send signals to the engine. The engine is activated when the pedals are turning forwards. Assisted pedalling is active up to a speed of 9.3 miles per hour (15 km per hour). The engine is de-activated when you exceed 9.3 miles per hour.
  • Page 7 For Attention • Only use the supplied charger to recharge the battery of the Babboe E-Power. If you use a different charger the battery can be damaged which can lead to dangerous situations. • The warranty is no longer valid, if a fault is caused by the use of a different charger.

  • Page 9 Part 2: Construction Manual: 1. Assembling the sidebars Slide the sidebars (No. 12 – both bars are identical) over the tubes (A) on top of the frame. Use nuts and bolts to attach the sidebars (B). Only screw the nuts nger tight.
  • Page 10 2. Attaching the mudguards Slide the mudguards (Nr. 16) onto the chassis. Use the bolt at the top of the side bars to attach the mudguards to the sidebars (A). Use the bolts that are already in the chassis to attach a mudguard on each side (B).

    3. Inserting the wheels Place the chassis upside down. Put the front wheels (Nr. 14) in the chassis and place the brake arm (A) in the hinge (B) in the chassis. Tighten the bolts (C). Place the chassis upright. Attention: The locknut, which is used to attach the wheel (C), can stay in the black cover.
  • Page 12 4. Attaching rear frame to the chassis Slide the tube of the rear frame (A) into the chassis (B). Use rings on both sides of the bolt. Important: Only screw the nuts nger tight for now (C). Use a 0.67-inch (17 millimetres) open- or box-end spanner. Attention: Add the nut and screw tight again after a couple of weeks...
  • Page 13 5. Attaching the rear panel to the stem with handlebars Attach the rear panel of the box to the stem with handlebars using 4 bolts and use the same bolts to attach the seat belts (Nr. 11) as shown on the picture (A). Make sure that the nuts are pointing outwards (B).
  • Page 14 Suggestion 3: Tighten the bolts again after having used the Babboe a few times. Result Important: : When the stem with handlebars has been mounted, the rear frame should be held straight.
  • Page 15 7. Attaching the brake cables to the front wheels The cables have been pre-assembled and only have to be inserted. 1. Check if the cables are properly inserted in their holders (A1/A2). 2. Lead the long cable (sticker L) of the left front brake around the outside of the tilt stopper (B) (Tilt Stoppers: Handles underneath the bike that prevent the user from over-steering.) and lead it through hinge (C) which is used for the brake arm as well.
  • Page 16 8. Attaching bottom and side panels Place the bottom panel (Nr. 07) horizontally on the chassis. Attention: It does not need to be attached! Insert the side panels and attach them to the sidebars and other parts. Attention: Make sure that the nuts are inserted from the outside (C).
  • Page 17 9. Attaching the two wooden benches 1. Attach the two corner hinges (Nr. 4) to each of the wooden benches (Nr. 9) using bolts C. First attach the rear bench (the one closest to the handle bars). Insert the bolts from the inside.

    10. Mounting the front panel 1. Attach the seat belts (Nr. 11A) to the toy bar (Nr. 18). Make sure that the nuts are facing upwards. 2. Attach the toy bar to the front panel. Make sure that the nuts will be on the outside of the box.

    11. Attaching the pedals Attach the pedals (Nr. 17) to the crank arms. Important: First tighten the pedals by hand as much as you can. Then nish tightening using the open-ended spanner of 0.59 inch (15mm). Attention: Turn the right hand pedal to the right when attaching it. Attention: Turn the left hand pedal to the left when attaching it.
  • Page 20 13. Attaching the lights and the foam protective tubes Front lights: Slide each light (Nr.02) o its clip. Open each clip. If required, remove the protective tube when attaching the clips onto the toy bar. Insert the batteries into both front lights and into the rear light.

  • Page 23 Brake cables and gear cables can stretch during usage so it might be necessary to re-adjust them from time to time. You can nd an instructional video on www.babboe.co.uk which demonstrates how to do this. To have the best riding experience and to ensure durability of brakes and gears, we advise you to follow the instructions carefully.
  • Page 24 The rst gear on the Babboe is very light so it is never necessary to stand on the pedals. Step on the bicycle, put your feet on the pedals, release the brakes and slowly start pedalling.
  • Page 25 Maintenance Suggestions 1: Important Poor or no maintenance of your Babboe will result in faster wear and a deteriorated riding experience. It can also result in increased cost of repairs. Spokes If the spokes are too loose, they will wear faster which can result in spokes breaking.
