CLEANING
• The thermometer should be cleaned in between uses, as necessary after oral, underarm, or rectal measurements. Wash entire thermometer and
protective cover with soap and warm water until all visible soil is removed and let air dry.
DISINFECTING
• The thermometer should be disinfected in between uses, as necessary after oral, underarm, or rectal measurements. Wet a paper towel with 10%
bleach solution, hold the tip of the device with the wet paper towel for 30 seconds, and then wipe towards the tip for approximately 3 minutes and
30 seconds. Rinse with water for 30 seconds and dry.
CARE & USE
Operating or storing outside these ranges may negatively impact the measurement and potentially damage the thermometer:
• Operating environment must be between 59°F -104°F.
• Operating and storage environment must be between 15-95% relative humidity.
• Store between -13°F and 122°F.
• If core body temperature is lower than ambient temperature the reading may be negatively impacted.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
The Vicks RapidRead Digital Thermometer features a long life battery. When the "
the battery is exhausted and needs replacing.
1. Using a coin, unlock the battery cover and carefully remove the battery with a non-metallic instrument.
2. Replace the battery with a 3V, CR2032 lithium type. Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing the battery cover.
3. Carefully replace the battery cover and, using a coin, tighten the cover.

Beeper:
Unit will beep when elevated temperature is reached. For temperatures over 99.4°F oral, 99.2°F underarm,
or 100.3°F rectal, the audible Fever Signal will sound 5 times.
Error Messages:
Err will be displayed if too much movement or any odd behavior has taken place during a measurement. The display
will read Err when the tip of the thermometer is being moved while taking a reading. The display will read Er1 when
a malfunction occurs and the unit will power off after 1 minute. The display will read Er2 when the reading is outside
the measurement temperature range. The display will read Er3 when the ambient temperature is outside the operating
temperature range. Please see care and use for operating and storage environments.
Accuracy in Water-bath: +/-0.2°F between 93.2-109.4°F at room temperature of 71°F. Determination of accuracy in a waterbath requires
accessing a special test mode. There is no difference or correction between the waterbath reading and the predictive
reading for this thermometer. Please contact Kaz for instructions related to use in waterbath mode.

A. This 1 year limited warranty applies to repair or replacement of product found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does
not apply to damage resulting from commercial, abusive, unreasonable use or supplemental damage. Defects that are the result of normal wear
and tear will not be considered manufacturing defects under this warranty. KAZ IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THIS
PRODUCT IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply

CUIDADO Y USO

CAMBIAR LAS PILAS
El Termómetro Digital RapidRead de Vicks cuenta con una pila de larga duración. Cuando aparezca "
está agotada y necesita ser reemplazada.
1. Utilizando una moneda, abra la tapa de la pila y retire cuidadosamente la pila con un instrumento no metálico.
2. Reemplace la pila de litio tipo botón CR2032 de 3V~. Inserte la pila nueva con el lado positivo (+) hacia la tapa de la pila.
3. Cuidadosamente vuelva a colocar la tapa de la pila y, utilizando una moneda, apriete la tapa.

Mensajes de Error:
Err se mostrará si se ha producido demasiado movimiento o cualquier comportamiento extraño durante una medición. La
pantalla leerá Err cuando la punta del termómetro esté siendo movida mientras toma una lectura. La pantalla leerá Er1 cuando

Precisión en Baño María:
+/-.2 °C entre 34-42°C a temperatura ambiente de 21.7°C. La determinación de la precisión en un baño maría requiere el
acceso a un modo de prueba especial. No hay diferencia ni corrección entre la lectura del baño maría y la lectura predictiva
