To install an opener (reduced-drive operator – 4:1 chain hoist) on the Trac-Rite 944 door:
1. Align the hole in the shaft extension with the axle hole. 2. Fasten the shaft extension using a 1/4" shoulder screw and a nylon insert stop nut. 3. Feed the hand chain through and around the pocket wheel. 4. Shorten the chain so it hangs 1 to 3 feet off the floor. Make sure there are no twists in the chain and close the loop. 5. Install the roller chain around the sprockets using the connecting link provided. 6. Attach the chain keeper clip to the wall 4 to 5 feet above the floor.
Ensure all adjustments are made with the door in the “UP” and “LOCKED” position. Only qualified personnel should perform adjustments.
