    Power Electronics Ethernet Gateway is used to interconnect Ethernet (through MODBUS TCP/IP) with MODBUS RTU. The Power Electronics Ethernet Gateway acts as a master in the MODBUS RTU side and as a slave in the MODBUS TCP/IP side. This manual gives the detailed description about the configuration and data exchange in the gateway‟s MODBUS TCP/IP side.

The existing Ethernet technologies differ in the following concepts:  Transmission speed: Transmission capacity of the environment in Mbps.

  • Page 14 ETHERNET GATEWAY POWER ELECTRONICS The PE-GATEWAY supports 2 different modes of operation, which are Pass-Through Only Mode and Cached Mode. In pass through only mode, every MODBUS TCP request will be processed transmitted over the serial line and the response from the MODBUS RTU slave will be sent back to the MODBUS TCP master.

ETHERNET GATEWAY CONFIGU- RATION The IP address and the gateway parameters of the Power Electronics Ethernet Gateway can be assigned to the board in two ways; using MODSCAN or Web Server application. 4.1. Configuration Switch To enter into configuration mode, the following steps have to be followed.

Cache Polling Timeout MODBUS register CACHE_POLLING_TIMEOUT [MODBUS Address: 41502] is used to configure the timeout between two consecutive pollings of a same cache entry. The Users are free to change this timeout value at any time. The default polling timeout value is 100ms.
