    Install OS2 Upgrade Kits in Allegro Removing the Computer 4.1 Removing the Computer To prepare your Allegro jukebox for installation of the OS2 Upgrade Kits, you must remove one of the following computer models: MJS, JCB, or JCB+ for MJS. The following shows the component connections on an Allegro jukebox.

Disconnect the AC power cord from the power strip and from the AC inlet on the bottom panel of the MJS or the JCB+ for MJS computer. NOTE Prior to performing the next step, it is recommended to use cable flags (or just pieces of tape) to tag each cable that connects to the jukebox computer, indicating which socket it goes into on the computer.

Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unfasten the four screws that secure the MJS or the JCB+ for MJS computer to the cabinet (hold the computer in place while removing the last two screws to prevent it from falling). The four screws on the JCB+ for MJS computer are in the same location as on the MJS computer.

    Activate the Jukebox Powering on the Jukebox 5.1 Powering on the Jukebox WARNING: During these procedures, there can be periods when the jukebox appears to not be responding. Booting the system with the new hard drive can take up to 10 minutes, and the screen can be blank for up to 90 seconds during the initialization procedure.

    Activate the Jukebox Configuring the Jukebox 5.2.3 Selecting Languages From the Languages screen, select a primary (default) language and an optional second language for the customer interface. OS2 provides full user interface support in English, French and Spanish. Patrons can change the language on the interface during their session.

From here you select the nightly time range during which the jukebox communicates with the TouchTunes server and the type of connection the jukebox uses.

The jukebox communicates with the TouchTunes server and downloads the most recent software build. 5.4 Installation Errors During installation, errors can occur if there is damage to the jukebox hardware or corruption to its software. This is rare under normal circumstances.

Therefore, viewing the OS2 interface on older screens causes a letterbox effect (whereby black bars appear at the top and bottom of the screen as shown below).
