Guidelines for Using Extension Cords PROPER EXTENSION CORD IS CRITICAL. It is vital to use only good conditioned extension cords that are not damaged in any fashion. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one that is hefty enough to carry/support the current your product will draw. Any cord that is not sufficient enough or is undersized will cause overheating and possibly cause electrical shock. -
