Entering and Editing Text

Various text entry methods make it easy for you to enter
names, numbers, and text messages on your phone.
Choosing a Text Mode
To activate a text mode, press
screen and select the text mode from the
menu:
iTAP
Tap
Numeric
Symbol
Browse
Note: The text mode you select remains active until you
change it by selecting another mode.
General Text Entry Rules
Use the keypad to enter letters, numbers, symbols, and
other characters with the tap method. Press the same key
repeatedly to cycle through available characters. (See the
"Character Chart" on page 34.)
Let the phone predict each word as
you enter it, then choose the word
from a list.
Enter characters one at a time by
pressing the key for the letter, number,
or symbol. This is the standard mode
for entering text on your phone.
Enter only the number that appears on
each key.
Enter symbols only.
Browse through your phonebook and
recent calls lists to select a name or
number to enter.
