The pump fails to work with hose attached to the pump. After removing hose, the pump begins discharging water slowly, then full force after a few seconds. It appears that the pump fails to "prime" with a hose attached.

The Acquaer PCP025 pump may fail to prime when a hose is attached due to a small diameter garden hose, a long discharge line, or too much back pressure. These conditions reduce water flow. Using a larger diameter hose or a shorter hose can help improve performance.

I have pump model PCP025 1/4 H/P. I bought it last year. Worked great. Cleaned and stored until now. Put in, plugged in, checked for power (was okay) and it did not work. I reset the GCFI and it did not work again. Do I need to do something else? Thank you.

If the Acquaer PCP025 pump does not work after storage, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the Power Connection: Ensure the pump is properly plugged into a working outlet. 2. Reset the GFCI: Unplug the pump, press the RESET button on the GFCI plug, and plug it in again. 3. Verify the Circuit Breaker: Make sure the circuit breaker for the branch circuit is in the ‘on’ (closed) position. 4. Inspect for Overheating: The pump has an automatic thermal overload protector. If it overheated, allow it to cool down before trying again. 5. Check for Clogs: Inspect the pump inlet screen and impeller for debris or blockages. 6. Ensure Proper Voltage: Low voltage can prevent operation. Confirm the power supply is 115V, 60Hz. 7. Reduce Back Pressure: A long discharge hose or clogs can cause excessive back pressure. Use a hose no longer than 50 feet. 8. Seek Professional Help: If none of these steps resolve the issue, consult a licensed electrician.
Do not modify the power cord or plug.

The Acquaer PCP025 pump may keep running when there is no water because water or debris is still contacting the sensor probes. To fix this, remove the pump and check that the sensor probes are free of water or debris.
