After running allow the engine to run its cooldown cycle. You can turn off your
transmitter and receiver during this time as ECU continues cooling even without
receiver power. At the end of cooling cycle ECU will power down itself.
If you don´t need the full 45N of thrust you can derate the engine. Enter the RUN
menu and dial a lower max thrust rating. The new value is shown as you adjust.
The engine has a RESTART system. The default for this is OFF (no RESTART),
you can change this by entering the RADIO menu and expressly turn it ON in two
modes MANUAL and AUTORESTART. "MANUAL" allows you to turn the engine
off in flight (trim and stick down) and then back on some time later using the
normal start command, without having to reset the ECU. Useful for gliders.
"AUTORESTART" commands the ECU to automatically "attempt" to restart the
engine in event of flameout, without you doing anything. Note word "attempt" as
flameouts can be because of many things and if it is a pipe melted or fallen off it
will be unsuccesful. The "AUTORESTART" function is a high energy start cycle
that kicks in a few milliseconds after a flameout is detected and pushes a fast
start cycle to return to the rpm set by the throttle lever. USE WITH CARE! If it is
clear a RESTART could be dangerous, put trim and throttle to zero which stops it.

Quick guide to setting up your Xicoy X45 engine and have it running safely.
This guide is for experienced users who need a quick guide to get started. For
those new to turbines a detailed manual is available that covers all aspects of the
engine and we strongly recommend you read through that before proceeding.
This X45 engine set is a totally new development, engine, fuel pump and
connector board are NOT compatible with any previous product from any
manufacturer.
Do not use X45 parts with anything not from this package.
Every engine is test run with its fuel pump at the Xicoy factory to be fully
operational and free of fault. You only need to connect your pipework and
electrics, calibrate the ECU to your transmitter and the engine is ready to go.
Battery. Use 2S 7.4V LiPo or 3S LiFe to power the ECU. Xicoy recommend at
least 1000mAh with minimum of 20C discharge rating. Higher capacity can be
used for model weight/balance reasons.
before charging.
Fuel supply. The X45 engine is designed to run on Kerosene or regular pump
Diesel available at filling stations. Oil must be mixed at 4%, ie 25:1.
Oil. Suitable turbine oils are Mobil JetOil, Exxon 2380. Mobil DTE Lite is ok but
should be mixed at 5%. A specially recommended mix is 3% Mobil DTE Lite or
Shell Tellus 32/Igol Turbine 32, mixed with 1% 2T Oil fully synthetic (JASO FC).
Use a good filter system when filling to ensure contaminants don´t get in the
engine. Wear suitable gloves and take care when handling fuels and oils.
Do not use Aeroshell 500 or any TCW-3 oils.
Always disconnect the ECU battery
