Overdrive
Congratulations on your purchase of the DRIVE IN Overdrive, a classic overdrive
pedal with LEVEL, DRIVE and TONE controls plus a special COLOR knob to tune
the voicing of the pedal. True bypass keeps your tone unchanged when the DRIVE IN
is bypassed.
1. LEVEL - Adjusts the overall output level (volume) of the DRIVE IN.
2. DRIVE - Adjusts the amount of overdrive (gain) of the unit. For cleaner settings rotate
counterclockwise. The maximum overdrive is also limited by the COLOR knob settings.
For maximum overdrive set the COLOR knob to full up.
3. COLOR - Tunes the voicing of the DRIVE IN - Two functions:
a) Adjusts the bottom-end response of the pedal. Rotate counterclockwise to increase
the bottom-end response. Remember to adjust the DRIVE knob (gain) to compensate for
changes in the overall gain when turning the COLOR knob.
b) Increases or limits the gain of the pedal. To increase gain rotate clockwise.
4. TONE - Active tone control to adjust the amount of high frequencies.
5. IN / OUT JACK - IN: 1/4" jack for guitar level input. When disconnecting the Input, the
internal battery turns off automatically. Out: 1/4" jack to connect to the input of an amplifier or
other effects.
6. FOOTSWITCH and LED - True bypass. Switch for pedal on/off. When the pedal is
engaged, the LED will be lit.
7. TRUE BYPASS - When the DRIVE IN unit is turned off, the signal runs through to the amp
without any loss of signal level. The pedal is totally switched out of the signal path.
8. BATTERY CHANGE - For battery change, open the bottom cover by removing the 4
screws and carefully replace the old battery. Ensure that the battery clip is connected
correctly before closing the bottom cover.
9. DC POWER JACK - The DRIVE IN can be powered with both, battery (9V block) and
external power supply. On the rear you will find the socket for connecting an external power
supply. It is a standard 2.1mm plug as used by (almost) all manufacturers of effects devices.
All commercially available power supplies for effect devices (negative to center pin) can be
used. If a power supply is connected, the internal battery will automatically switch off.
