General description 200C series™ Counters are 4-decade seven segment high brightness red LED display MKII instruments based on the industry standard Intel 80C51 series microprocessor. They are built into half DIN (96 mm x 48 mm) panel mounting housings and can be supplied to operate on 115V or 230V AC or 24V DC power supplies (see Transformer connections on page 4). -

Switches and connections ™ instruments are available only with hidden function switches that are not accessible MKII SERIES until the bezel and front panel are temporarily removed. The programming instructions in this User Guide assume that the front panel has been removed to gain access to these switches – see Fig 1 on opposite page. -

Programming the instrument Calculating a Scaling Factor The scaling factor in the ™ Counter is straightforward to calculate. For example, if for MKII SERIES each fifteen (15) pulses received you want the display to increment once, the scaling factor should be set to fifteen (15). -
Page 9: On An Instrument That Has Been Previously Scaled
To enter the scaling factor, simply press Switch B to alter the value for the decade that is blinking until the correct figure is displayed. To move to the next highest decade in turn just press Switch A to move from right to left. If it is necessary to enter a decimal point in the scaling factor you must use Switch A to step to the most significant decade (even if the value for the higher decades is to remain at zero) and then press Switch A once again to move on to the decimal point setting function. -

Operation Counting Once a scaling factor has been set and the unit is in RUN mode the display will increment each time the requisite number of pulses are received (either up or down dependent upon which input receives the signal). The count can be reset to zero at any time by momentarily connecting the reset (RS) input on the back panel to 0V (see Fig 2... -

Additional Information Electromagnetic Precautions Logitech have designed in a great deal of noise immunity into the product in accordance with EN5001-2 and EN5002-2 (radiated emissions, conducted emissions, ESD, radiated susceptibility and fast burst transient testing) However it is still vital to use good EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) techniques on installation of both this and other associated electronic equipment and sensors in order to ensure reliable operation. -
