OPERATIONAL USE OF LEVELING COMB You can operate the Riata Rake using a float- ing method or fixed method of leveling. It is recommended that the first use of the imple- ment you use it in a floating position with the handle in the up position (as shown).

ADJUSTING TINE DEPTH Your Riata Rake is equipped with a tine bar array and a single adjustment point (see figure 4 below). One way of determining the depth that is best suited for your arena is to adjust the tine bar by extending the ratchet jack until the tines are in the footing of your arena.

The leveling comb is designed to function as a flow control gauge and is adjustable with either the stan- dard top link that came with your Riata Rake or with our Hydraulic Cylinder option (not included). First you will find a fixed or floating control handle directly above the leveling comb.

USING RIATA RAKE SCARIFIERS OPTION: The Riata Rake is optionally equipped with scarifiers . Our 1108 Riata Rake option comes with 9 scarifiers (5RR1108A022A). Our 1110 Storage Position Riata Rake option comes with 11 scarifiers (5RR1110A022A).These teeth are used for periodical maintenance.

The blade is designed to be level with the footing surface when the Riata Rake mast is vertical. NOTE: be sure to re-level the mast before you condition with the tines after clearing Tighten Wing Bolt your rail.

Leveling the frame: Use the top link to set the mast and frame angle. The mast of the Riata Rake should be set at 90 de- grees to the earth in a vertical position. This may vary slightly depending upon arena conditions and during the use of scarifiers.

We have developed an excellent arena pattern for you to follow for the first few time you use your Riata or when ever you use the optional scarifiers for maintaining your arena. Note: Scarifiers should be used without the tines in the ground—this will reduce the work for your tractor and provide a superior maintenance.
