    18.2.2004 Rev. 1.0 Functional description 3. Functional description 3.1 Intended use This pasta cooker is designed to cook food in baskets immersed in boiling water. The ap- pliance can also be used to reheat cooked food. In this case place the food in GN contain- ers.

    18.2.2004 Rev. 1.0 Functional description 3.3 Operating principle Heating is provided by immersion type armoured heating elements designed to resist me- chanical and thermal stress. The water temperature can be set between 50° C and 90° C (pre-heating) or in the contin- uous heating position.

Line indicator light (3) remains illuminated until the thermostat is set to 0. When the set tem- perature is reached, operation indicator light (2) will switch off. Safety thermostat indica- tor light (4) will illuminate if the safety thermostat trips.

    18.2.2004 Rev. 1.0 Operating instructions Routine cleaning Cleaning the appliance thoroughly on a daily basis is the best way to keep it in perfect working condition and increase its working life. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and soapy water or detergent. Avoid acid or abrasive cleaners as discussed above. Do not use aggressive detergents, even for washing the floor around the appliance, since these products give off corrosive vapour that can deposit on stainless steel surfaces and damage them.

The following maintenance operation should be performed at least once a year: • checking proper operation of control and safety devices; We strongly recommend entering into a technical assistance agreement providing for at least one service per year.

Installation 5.1 General The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage to property or injury to persons due to incorrect installation or inappropriate use of the appliance. In these cases, the war- ranty is invalid. Installation, maintenance, connection to the electrical supply and commissioning of the appliance must be performed by an authorized installer.

If the appliance is installed immediately next to other electrical appliances, ensure that they do not interfere with each other. Also the electrical power supplies to the adjacent appliances must be independent. 5.4 Storage If the appliance is stored in a warehouse with internal temperature below 0°C (32°F), it should be brought to a temperature of at least +10°C (50°F) prior to use.
