GENERAL

Accessory barometric relief dampers can only be in-
stalled on Models 48/50DJ,DK,LJ,NK vertical units equipped
with economizer.
On horizontal units (50DW,DY,LW,NY), the barometric
relief hoods may be installed on field-supplied return
ductwork.

INSTALLATION

Accessory package contains:
1 channel panel (50LJ units only)
1 channel clip
1 preassembled hood/damper assembly
1 fan deck
1 fastener package (taped to inside of hood)
The fastener package contains:
6 screws, 1 ⁄ AB x 5 ⁄ -in. long

2 seal strips, 36-in. long x 1-in. wide x
with pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side

Vertical Units (48/50DJ,DK,LJ,NK) —
power.
Accessory barometric relief dampers are installed in place
of the unit panel that is next to the economizer. See Fig. 1.
NOTE: Save all screws as they will be needed later to re-
assemble the panels.
On 50 series units, remove compressor access door/panel
and latch bracket. On all units, remove and discard left chan-
nel panel. See Fig. 2 for channel panel details. On 50LJ units,
it is necessary to remove drip lip over compressor access
panel in order to reach left channel panel screws and remove
panel.
Remove right channel panel. See Fig. 2 for channel panel
details. Save this channel panel as it will be used later in
another position. Remove and discard unit panel.
Secure fan deck in place using unit panel screws removed
earlier. See Fig. 1. (Do not use the 2 middle screws on the
lower set of holes that hold the fan deck to the unit base rail.
Save for use later.)
