Section 2 Introduction Section 2 Introduction Scope of application This product is used in combination with either the VM-21G Signal Conditioner Socket, or the VM-21H Backplane Unit (sold separately), and receives signals from a 3-WIRE LVDT SIGNAL CONDITIONER (LVDT), and converts them to insulated 4 to 20mA DC or 1 to 5V DC. Do not use for any other purposes.

Section 3 Installation ▌DIN Rail Installation▐ Use the following installation procedure. DIN rail Fit the upper tabs on the back of the signal conditioner socket into the DIN rail. Upper tab Pull the slide lock while pushing the signal conditioner socket onto the DIN rail. Slide lock Make sure the upper tabs and slide lock have clamped onto the DIN rail.
Section 3 Installation 3.2.2 Using a backplane unit for installation You can use a backplane unit to install the product closely appressed to a wall or 19-inch rack panel. Use the following installation procedure. Install the backplane unit onto the installation angles or the wall.

Section 3 Installation 3.3.2 Connecting the output signal receiver Connect the output signal receiver as explained below. Tool-grade vinyl code (VSF) stranded wire (JIS C 3306, or similar) with a Point nominal conductor sectional area of 0.5 to 0.75mm , or similar product, is recommended for signal wire.
Section 3 Installation 3.3.3 Connecting the power supply Connect the power supply as explained below. 600V vinyl code (IV) stranded wire (JIS C 3307, or similar) with a nominal Point conductor sectional area of 1.25 to 2.0mm , or similar product, is recommended for electric wire.

Section 4 Corrections Correcting the product Use the following procedure to make corrections. Zero adjustment Turn on the power supply. Potentiometer Span adjustment Move the LVDT core so that the T.P. output Potentiometer becomes 0.00V. Adjust the zero adjustment volume until the output is 3V or 12mA.
Section 5 Maintenance and Inspections Section 5 Maintenance and Inspections The maintenance and inspections for this product are explained in this section. Regular inspections Recommend corrections once annually to maintain product performance and ensure system stability. Refer to “Section 4 Corrections” for more information about the procedure for performing corrections.

Shinkawa Sensor Technology, Inc. (The warranty period for special products and software shall be 1 year.) If Shinkawa liable for a fault in a Shinkawa product that occurs during this warranty period, the replacement and/or repair of that product shall be performed at a Shinkawa factory at Shinkawa’s expense.
