Positioning the WaterDog
Locate the WaterDog where water spillage is acceptable:
Mulch, artificial grass or gravel will ensure a clean, mud free
zone.
Adjust the WaterDog so its sensors are at the same height as
your dog's chest (See Diagram A below). Adjust the height of
the WaterDog by sliding it up or down on its post.
Adjust the direction of the water by turning the spigot. (See
Diagram B).
For small dogs, you may need to angle the unit slightly upwards
to prevent the WaterDog from "seeing" the ground.
The WaterDog can see approximately 1 metre in front of its
sensors - this area must be clear of all objects.
When your WaterDog "sees" an object its light will flash green,
letting you know that it is seeing something and that the bat-
teries are good. See "Safety Features" for more information on
the Water Dog's light.

Other Features
Low Battery Indicator:
To test your WaterDog place your hand in front of the Water-
Dog's sensors:
If the light flashes green - the batteries are good.
If the light flashes red - the batteries need to be replaced.
Emergency Lockout:
If an object remains in front of the WaterDog for more than 4
minutes, the WaterDog will shut off, and remain off, until the
object is removed. (The WaterDog's field of view must be clear
for at least 6 seconds for it to reset). The emergency lockout is
indicated by a quick green/red flash every 10 seconds.
Flow Through
The WaterDog's tap connector allows you to connect other
things like hoses and sprinklers. Simply remove the end cap
(part 12) and connect your hose.
Maintenance
Daily: Place your hand in front of your WaterDog's sensors to
ensure that it is working correctly and that the batteries are
good. (Look for the light to flash green).
Monthly: Inspect the sensor area to make sure that it is clean
and free of any dirt or debris. If you find that the screen is dirty
you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Alternatively, you can
remove the two screws that hold the screen on and wash it with
soapy water.
Yearly: Replace the 4 "C" cell batteries. Always use alkaline
batteries for maximum performance.
A single set of
batteries should last
approximately
one year.
