If the motor runs but the paper does not shred on the Embassy ELITE LF1400 Series, possible reasons include:

1. Overheating Protection – If the shredder recently overheated, it may need up to 60 minutes to cool down before functioning properly.
2. Incorrect Paper Insertion – Only paper should be used in the auto feed tray, and credit cards should be shredded through the manual feed slot.
3. Paper Jam – Folded paper or inserting additional sheets while the auto feed tray is in use may cause a jam.
4. Safety Mechanism – The shredder operates only when used with the supplied basket, which has a built-in sensor.
5. Power or Sensor Issues – Ensure the shredder is properly plugged in, turned on, and that the waste bin is correctly positioned.
6. Manual Feed Limit – Exceeding the 12-sheet manual feed capacity may prevent shredding.

Checking these factors can help identify the issue.

Assembly NOTE: This shredder will operate only when used with the supplied basket. The supplied basket has a built-in safety feature which prevents the shredder from operating if used with any other basket or if improperly assembled. This shredder contains sharp edges on the underside of the shredder head. The plug on the power supply cord is intended to serve as the disconnect device, so the socket-outlet should be installed near the equipment and should be easily accessible.
