Rule of Thumb:
Generally, do not use a number on the shutter
speed scale which is any smaller than the focal
length of the lens for handheld shooting
.
For
handheld shooting with a 100 mm
lens,
for
in-
stance, set a shutter speed of
1/
125 second or
faster;
with a 200 mm
lens,
at least 11250
second. If this is not
possible,
use a tripod and a
cable
release.

t have a flash or a
tripod and a cable re-
lease?

Let's try steadying the camera on
this table and then releasing the
shutter
with
the
AE-1
PRO-
GRAM's
self-timer.
I'm sure it will
reduce the possibility of camera
movement.
Note
In the programmed AE
mode,
the
"
P
"
blinks when the shutter speed
is
1/
30 or slower to warn you of the
possibility of camera movement if
you are handholding the
camera.
