Section 1 Description About this manual Read this manual carefully before operating the CHALLENGER550 for the first time. Observe in particular the overall safety instructions (see Subsection 2 "General safety instructions", page 3). General These operating instructions will make you familiar with the basic operating steps of the CHALLEN- GER550.

Constant visual contact must be maintained between operator and wing walker. Crush hazard! When coupling the CHALLENGER550, hands can be crushed in the coupling device of the tow bar. Crushing can lead to serious hand injuries. Make sure that operating personnel only grip the tow bar on the handgrips intended for this purpose.

Brake slowly and continuously. The train, consisting of the CHALLENGER550, tow bar and aircraft, has to be in a straight line during braking. In the case of lightweight aircraft, avoid heavy braking, to prevent damage to the nose wheel.
