pilot lamp
socket
from its
mounting
bracket.
3.
Disconnect ptayback
and
erase
head
connec-
tors,
and
power
socket.
4.
Remove two
screws holding
radio/phono
input
jack
to
motorboard. push bracket
through
hole
in
motorboard.
5.
Remove
hexnutholding
microphone
input jack
to bracket
on
motorboard.
6.
Remove
screws holding
amplifier
chassis to
motorboard.

engage
thetr drive
pulteys (bl)
and

vrith
the same
force
and
at the
sime
[ime.
The
brake pads should contact the pulleys with the max-
imumpad
area.
This
is
accomplished by bending the
endof
brat<erelease
slide
(67).
To
gain access
to
the
end
of
brake release
slide (67), remove
main
drlve
pulley
(79).

springtension
is
determined
by
measuringthe force necessary
to
pull
the tape past capstan shaft
(tT).
With the recorder
stopped
and
Play
push button
depressed,
a
tension
of
32 ounces
should be
required
to
cause
tape
slippage.
Toomuchpressurewill
make the
latch
difficult
to
de-
press in the Play position.
