4. Recommended settings

The subwoofer has several settings which can be adjusted based on listener
preference. It is recommended that you set up the system initially to match the settings
shown below. The controls can then be fine tuned to give the optimum setup for your
taste.

Phase switch

The phase switch should be set differently depending on the orientation of the
subwoofer in your room. Please see diagram overleaf and set the phase switch as
fdirected. If your subwoofer is in orientation A, the phase switch should be set to 0°. If
your subwoofer is in orientation B, C or D, the phase switch should be set to 180°.
Please see diagram overleaf for details of subwoofer positioning.
If you cannot position the subwoofer in the ideal position, place it in a sensible location
for your room. There may be a small sacrifice in sound quality, but this can be mostly
avoided by listening to the same movie track with the phase switch in each position and
choosing the setting which gives the most upper bass.
Level and crossover settings
The level and crossover controls should be set according to the diagrams below. The
white dot on each diagram indicates the recommended setting for that control. After
setting up the system with the initial settings, the controls can then be adjusted with
audio playing to tailor the output to your room.
It is recommended that the controls be kept within the highlighted range for the best
performance.
