KONKA U3 – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1. How do I insert the sim card into my Konka phone?
To insert the sim card, you need to remove the back cover from the phone and remove the battery. To do this,
you just need to find the small cut-out edge on the bottom left corner of the back cover and remove it. You
can then remove the battery via the small opening underneath the camera. The sim goes in to the large space
provided above the text: U3. You need to ensure the sim card's cut out edge is facing to the bottom right of
the phone. The sim size is called standard: which is actually the largest sim size. The sim card should fit
perfectly between the cut out areas provided.
Q2. How do I turn the device on and off?
To turn the device on and off, flip the phone open and you simply hold down the Red End Key for around 5
seconds. This will put the device into the boot-up system to power on and the boot-down system to power off.
Remember: To put the phone into sleep mode, just flip the cover back down.
Q3. How can I factory reset my Konka phone?
Before you proceed – remember to back up all personal data (photos, videos, contacts etc....) – these will be
lost when the device is reset. To reset your device, press the left soft key to open the applications menu. Now
use the directional keys and head to the right, until you find settings. Press the OK key to select. Now use the
directional keys again to head down until you find the setting: Restore factory settings or you can simply press
the number 7 to skip to the menu. Press OK to proceed. You now need to input the 4 digit unlock code which is
0000 by default. Now press YES (left soft key) to proceed with the reset. The phone will now re-boot and
eventually come back to the home screen completely reset.
Q4. Can I adjust the in-call volume?
If you feel you cannot hear the individual on the other end very well, you can alter this setting, to improve
volume. You need to be in an active call to do this, so please make sure you make a phone call first. During the
call, all you need to do is use the up and down keys on the directional pad to increase or decrease the volume.
Whichever volume setting this is left on, is how it will be every call until the setting is changed.
Q5. How do I put my phone into hands free loudspeaker mode?
To activate loudspeaker, all you need to do is press the right soft key which has a subheading on the screen
called H-FREE. To return back to regular volume, press the same button which is then labelled H-HELD.
Q6. How can I do a conference call?
To add a new person to the call, simply press the left soft key which is labelled options on screen. Now go
down and select new call. Dial the new number and press the green call key. This will now call and put that
contact into a conference call.
Q7. How do I save a photo that I sent as an attachment via SMS?
To do this, open the message. Press the left soft key which will then make the word options appear. Press the
left soft key again to open options. Select and press OK on save objects. Then press OK on picture. You can
now use the keypad to type a new name for the photo. Once done, press left soft key followed by OK to save
the photo.
