WARNING:Never use the telescope to view intense light such as direct sunlight or sunlight reflected through a prism as this may result in loss of sight. CONTENTS 1. Features· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · 20 2.
1. Features This automatic level series is equipped with automatic compensator which is magnetically damped, so that the instrument is protected from vibration, temperature change and can self-correct even it is on a slight slope. This automatic level is designed and developed to provide the best performance in the various civil engineering and constructions projects.
3. Preparation 3.1 SETTING THE INSTRUMENT 1)Unbuckle the band around the tripod legs and loosen the extension clamp screws ( Fig.3.1 ). 2)With the tripod closed, extend the tripod legs until the tripod head is roughly at eye level, then retighten the clamp screws. 3)Spread the tripod legs so that the leg tips form a regular triangle on the ground.
bubble is approximately centered in the circular level (4). ( Fig.3.4 ) 7)Tighten the centering screw. 8)Adjust the leveling foot screws (7) until the bubble is exactly centered in the center circle ( Fig.3.5 ). 3.2 Focusing and sighting 1) Observe sighting device (2) and let objective (8) collimate the object ( Fig.3.6 ).

2)Adjusting the distance between eyepiece and reticle by turning diopter ring on eyepiece (9),stop turning until the reticle image become as clearly as possible. 3)Centering the object into field of view by turning fine adjusting knob (8) on telescope, then focusing by turning focusing knob (10). 4)Lightly up and down, right and left moving your eyes when observing telescope ( Fig.3.7 ).
4. Method of measuring 4.1 Measuring high difference (h) 1)Set the level at a point approximately halfway between points A and B. It will be more convenient to use stadia line to measure (page 27-28 for your reference) ( Fig.4.1 ). ※In order to eliminate errors due to sighting axis misalignment and to make sure the measurement could be more accurate, please set the level as close to halfway point as possible.
Example1: Measuring h, h=a-b;(if point B is lower than point A, the reading from “a-b” is negative number). Example2: Measuring Distance. Divide the distance into a number of sections if the distance or the H between A and B is long or large ( Fig.4.2 ). Calculating formulas like follows: h = Summation of backsight –...
2)Sighting point A, watch the horizontal circle window (12) and turn the horizontal circle position ring at the same time , until the reading be 0°, ( Fig4.4 ) (setting the reading of starting location as 0°). 3)Sight and take the angle reading of point B. As ( Fig.4.5 ) , it is 92.5°which express, reference to center of the instrument, the angle between A and B ( Fig4.5 ).

Stadia lines Fig.4.6 2) The distance between level and surveyor’s rod is equal to L multiple 100. Example : If the length l=1.652-1.332=0.320m=32cm , the horizontal distance from the instrument to the surveyor’s rod is 0.32m × 100=32m( Fig.4.7 ). - 28 -...
Check and adjustment 5.1 Circular level 1)Turning the leveling foot screw (7) until the bubble be central. 2)Rotate the instrument 180° ( Fig.5.1 ). It expresses normal if the bubble is in the center. If off center, adjusting as follows. 180°...
5)Repeat the above check and calibration until no bubble shift occurs at any telescope direction. 5.2 Automatic compensator 1)Centering the bubble by adjusting. 2)Observing the movement of reticle after 1/8 round right and left turning of leveling screw which close to collimation axis. (Or sighting the object which easy to see clearly and tapping tripod and instrument at the same time) ( Fig.5.4 ).
5.3 Reticle ( just calibrating the horizontal line ) 1)The distance between A and B is 30-50m,set the level at a point halfway between A and B, Take the reading at Fig.5.5 ). 2) Set the level at a point which 2m away from point A, taking the reading at and b2 ( Fig 5.6 ).
Page 33
,If ,the reticle is Calculating like: normal and the collimation line is horizontal, otherwise, adjusting as follows. 3)Unscrew and remove the adjusting screw cap (11) ( Fig.5.7 ). Fig.5.7 2 4)Adjusting the reticle by using adjusting pin. If ( Fig.5.8 ) ...
6. General precautions 1)The instrument is a precision instrument. Handle with care and try to avoid heavy shocks and vibration. 2)In order to avoid doing harm to screw, please do not place the instrument directly on the round. 3)When the instrument is left on the tripod and not in use for long time, please cap the objective lens (1).

9. Maintenance 1)Checking the tripod before using. 2)If the level has been moistened by rain, please use soft cloth to erase dust firstly and then use soft cloth or lens paper to wipe off moisture (you could exhale towards to lens firstly then wiping). 3)Please clean the instrument and put the cap well before packing the instrument after work.
