    Bed Watcher is a standalone security device which is dedicated for remote presence and motion detection and vital sign monitoring. Bed Watcher is designed for floor, shelf, wall or ceiling mounting with the help of the rack with rotating bracket and is capable detecting vital signs at up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) distance.

    Figure 2 which is optionally supplied with the device. The rack can be fastened with 4 screws to the ceiling or wall. Then, the Bed Watcher may be inserted into or extracted from the bracket using the frame on its bottom.

    READY LED blinks at that time. If DHCP server is not found the device assigns static IP address to itself. Default static IP address is 192.168.0.101. This address can be changed by the user with supplied Bed Watcher Test Utility. After the device has its own IP address READY LED becomes green and the device starts monitoring continuously.

    5.4. Reading Device Status Bed Watcher device status can be read via ETHERNET RJ45 socket located on the bottom side of the device. When STA or AP network mode is enabled the device operates as a TCP/IP server and responds on requests from client applications according to the data exchange protocol described in a separate document.
  • Page 7 Bed Watcher User’s Guide NanoPulse, Inc. Prior using the utility you must connect it to a Bed Watcher device using Connect menu item from Device menu or corresponding toolbar button. Use Network port and specify IP address of the device. The device must either have received the IP address from DHCP server in your network or have assigned static IP address to itself.
  • Page 8 Bed Watcher User’s Guide NanoPulse, Inc. Reset Device - forces the device to be rebooted. This button does not help when the device is in UltraScope mode. Set Bootloader - forces the device to stop normal operation and enter in bootloader mode for updating the firmware.
  • Page 9 Bed Watcher User’s Guide NanoPulse, Inc. Get SSID - displays selected Wi-Fi network SSID. Applicable only to the devices with Wi-Fi option enabled. Get Security Type - displays selected Wi-Fi encryption mode, which is one of OPEN for no encryption, WEP, WPA or WPA2.

    For making the firmware update in the device the following sequence must be performed: 1) The device must be switched in the bootloader mode by pressing on the Set Bootloader button in the Bed Watcher Test Utility. 2) USB cable must be attached to the computer. READY (green) LED shall start blinking fast.
