reason for a fault is not on
obvious one such
as

dead tube,
broken
down resistor

blown or disconnected
fuse
etc., then
first
test the voltages
of
all the tubes and compare
them
with
the
vo ltages shown
in the
circuit
diagram in
order
to loca
lize
the defec
t.
Shou
ld this method of finding the
fa
u
lt
prove unsuccessful
t
then check the
instrument
by adopting
the method
described
in the ad
just-
ment procedure. When the trouble has been found and remedied, thevoltagesand adjustments wh ich are
influenced by the remedy
mus
t
be rechecked.

guide
for
adjustment
and control, but any deviations must
not
be
corrected

ithout
being sure
that
the
to lerances of
the instruments used for making the adjustment ore sa small as

have
no influence on the
measurements.

equipment.

f. inst., small deviations in
tolerances
require

experience, and

it is necessary to send

instrument
to
the factory.
