Titanium is not corrosive and will not breakdown in saltwater thus ensuring a safe environment for saltwater fish, invertebrate, freshwater fish, reef fish and seafood aquariums. 4.   • Page 3 * Do not operate if the cord is damaged, if you unit is malfunctioning do not operate * Any modifications to the chiller, chillers components and/or control board voids warranty. INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION Required Tools (not included): Hose clamps and water source. 1. Place the chiller in a well ventilated level surface. 2. Attach the barbed compression fitting to the chiller intake and output. 3. Attach flexible tubing to the intake barb on the chiller using a hose clamp to ensure tightness. 4. Connect to water supply or water pump to the unit. Water flow should be a min. of 100 GPH and not to exceed 400 GPH. It is recommended to pre-filter the water first. 5. Attach a piece of flexible tubing to the output barb of the chiller using a hose clamp. 6. Verify that the water returning from the chiller is not in close proximity to the intake water source. 7. Secure the return line. 8. Verify that there are not any kinks in the tubing supplying water to the chiller or in the output tube returning water to the aquarium or sump. 9. Turn on water pump or water supply. 10. Check all connections to verify that there are not any leaks. Setting the Thermostat 1. Plug the chiller into a G.F.C.I. outlet. 2. Switch the unit ON. 3. The LED screen now will read the temperature of the current aquarium water.
  • Page 4 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If “EL” is displayed, then the chiller is malfunctioning. Unplug immediately. If “EH” is displayed with the alarm sound, then there is an electrical short. Unplug immediately. Problem: LED lights do not come on * Check to see if the chiller is plugged in. * Unplug the unit and verify that the fuse is good. If the fuse needs to be replaced, replace with the same size fuse. Problem: The compressor continues to turn on/off * Incorrect power supply * Low water flows Problem: The unit is not cooling or not cooling adequately * The chiller is not placed in an area with adequate ventilation. * The radiator needs to be maintained. Clean of all dust and debris.
  • Page 5 REPLACING TEMPERATURE SENSOR If you have any questions or concerns about working on the chiller always consult a certified electrician first. Required tools: wire cutters and Phillips screw driver. Replacing temperature sensor for CC-25B 1. Unplug the chiller. 2. Unplug/disconnect the water being supplied to the chiller. 3. Disconnect tubing. 4. Drain the water from the heat exchanger. 5. Remove the eight screws that hold on the cover of the chiller. 6. Remove cover. Caution: Connected to the cover is the temperature controller. Remove slowly. Then, disconnect the connection between the cover/controller and the chiller. 7. On the heat exchanger is compression fitting holding the sensor. Loosen the fitting and slide out the sensor. 8. With a pair of dykes, remove the zip ties holding the sensor wire. 9. Disconnect the sensor from the temperature controller. 10. Install new sensor. Use Teflon tape on the compression nut. 11. Secure sensor wire with new zip ties cutting off excess. 12. Reconnect the temperature controller. 13. Replace cover and secure with screws. 14. Reinstall. Replacing temperature sensor for CC-50 1. Unplug chiller.
  • Page 6 11. Remove the black plastic cover for the temperature controller. There are two circuit boards installed in the cover. 12. Remove 1 board by removing the four screws that secure the board. 13. Then remove the 2 board by removing the two screws that secure the board. 14. Loosen the compression fitting securing the sensor in the heat exchanger. 15. Follow the sensor wire to the circuit board and disconnect (Note: secure both sides of the wire, disconnect and remove). 16. Remove the sensor. 17. Keep the compression nut that connects to the heat exchanger in place. 18. Slide the compression nut onto the new senor if not already installed. 19. Now, reconnect the new sensor to board. 20. Secure the sensor back into the heat exchanger. 21. Secure all wiring and insulation with zip ties. 22. Replace circuit boards back into the black plastic cover in the order they where removed. 23. Commodity Axis Inc. disclaims all other warranties of merchantability and/or fitness for a particular purpose. Although this limited warranty gives you specific rights, you may have other rights that may vary from state to state. This Warranty is void if the failure of the ViaAqua® Chiller or any part, sealant or component there of is due to (i) misuse, (ii) tampering, (iii) negligence, (iv) misapplication, (v) abuse, (vi) accident and/or (vii) failure to properly (a) maintain, (b) clean, (c) pre-filter, (d) reassemble, (e) clean and/or use the ViaAqua® Chiller with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). CONSUMER REMEDIES Commodity Axis Inc. entire Liability and your sole exclusive remedy are either repair or replacement of the Via Aqua® chiller only if you return the defective Via Aqua® chiller directly to Commodity Axis Inc. with the original receipt in this original box along with $25.00 for shipping and handling. Do not send the chiller by insured mail. The chiller may be sent by UPS requiring signature upon arrival. Any replacement Via Aqua® chiller will be warranted for remaining of the original warranty period. In not event shall any shipping charges be reimbursed. In no event will Commodity Axis, Inc. be liable for any consequential or incidental damages including, but not limited to, loss of life, personal injury, property damage, damaged equipment, lost profits, lost wages, lost savings, lost income, etc. arising out of the use of the ViaAqua® chiller. Some states do not allow for the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you.
