The charging boiler has a small water capacity, so that the water can be heated up rapidly before being stored in the accumulator tank. EcoTec MiniQ holds just 55 litres of water, ensur- ing minimal losses during downtime.

User information: The boiler An EcoTec MiniQ is designed for firing with pellets. Wood burning is not possible due to the design of the boiler. Combustion The combustion process in the boiler is controlled by an external pellet burner. The burner must be installed by an au- thorised installation engineer, to ensure optimum set-up of the combustion process. A correctly set-up burner yields better economy and less impact on the environment. See the burner manual for installation, setting and maintenance information. Convection The flue gases in the boiler are cooled by the tubes running vertically down into the firebox, after which they pass out via the flue pipe.
  • Page 5: Soot Removal

Soot removal Your boiler must be regularly cleared of soot, at least once a quarter or more often depending on how much it is used. To clear the soot, insert the accompanying flue brush into the tubes and use it to scrape off all the soot. Brush soot off the boiler walls and any other areas where it may accumulate. Finish by emptying the ash drawer into a non-flammable container. Dismantling, scrapping Your boiler will last for many years, but please follow applicable regulations when the time comes for dismantling and scrapping.
  • Page 6: Installation Information

INSTALLATION INFORMATION The boiler room The boiler room must comply with applicable building standards. Ensure a good air supply by having an air inlet equivalent in size to the flue pipe area. Chimney EcoTec MiniQ has a flue pipe connection to the rear. Dif- fering chimney heights and types, wind and position may affect its drawing capacity. You should have a vacuum of 10-15 Pa in the boiler to achieve a good function. The chimney should be at least 120 mm in diameter. The flue pipe connection must have a damper. Flue pipe connection for damper, to the Flue pipe connection for damper, rear. upwards (optional). Item no. for damper (optional): 1234-00 Item no. for pipe: 8701-00 Item no. for damper: 1234-00 Connection Pipe installation must be carried out in accordance with applicable heating and hot-water standards. Temp. sensor for con- trolling charging units in submerged pipes together with sensors for thermometers and oper- ating temperature.

Filling The most suitable method of filling is through a charging pipe fixed to a connecting pipe that flows into the boiler. If necessary, the boiler can be filled by connecting a hose to the filling point on the boiler. Once the system has been filled, it must be vented. Ventilation Recommendation: Connect the boiler’s riser pipe to an automatic ventilating valve. Expansion vessel The boiler must always be connected to an expan- sion vessel. With an open system, the volume must be 5% of the system volume, and with a sealed system, 10%. Safety valve The system must always be fitted with a safety valve, the pressure must not exceed 1.5 bar. Positioning The boiler must be positioned on a stable surface; remember that one side must be accessible for servicing and soot removal. The boiler must be horizontal.
