Telguard Cellular Service
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
These instrucions are writen for use when installing a 3G Cell Radio
Module into a 2GIG Control Panel that will be using the Telguard
Cellular Service.
The 3G Cell Radio Module is a snap-in cell radio that provides 2-way-
voice to a Central Staion, transmits security informaion to online
portals, and delivers the latest Over-The-Air firmware updates to the
2GIG Control Panel using the Telguard Cellular Service.

(Step 1) Register Telguard
Cellular Service
To acivate the 3G Cell Radio Module, Telguard requires that the
module be registered.
(Step 2) Install the 3G Cell Radio Module
The 2GIG-GC 3G Cell Radio
Module is a snap-in cell radio that
provides 2-way-voice to a Central
Staion, transmits security
informaion to online portals, and
delivers the latest Over-The-Air
firmware updates to the 2GIG
Control Panel. The 2GIG-GC 3G
Cell Radio Module must be
installed with the 2GIG-ANT3X
Antenna.
The Control Panel
IMPORTANT:
Firmware must be version
1.10.1 or higher for the 3G
Cell Radio Module to work.
The (2GIG-ANT3X) antenna is
required for use with the 3G
Cell Radio Module.
Before installing the 2GIG-GC 3G
Cell Radio Module make sure that
both the AC power and the
batery are disconnected from
the 2GIG Control Panel:
Plug the Cell Radio Module into the Control Panel.

Secure the Cell Radio Module with 2 screws and lock washers.

Connect the ANT3X Antenna to the module.

Thread the Antenna through the back of the Control Panel.

Close the Control Panel and secure it.

As with all electrical appliances, a shock hazard exists
WARNING:
if any electrical current is connected to the 2GIG Control Panel
by AC power or batery while insering, removing or replacing
parts.
(Step 3) Test the Cell Signal Strength
Power up the Control Panel.

To access the Installer Toolbox Screen, press the logo in the

botom corner.

Enter your 4-digit Installer Code.

From the Installer Toolbox Screen, press the Radio Status buton.

Verify that the signal strength meets the recommended minimum
of 7/31. If the Radio Status buton is green, the radio is connected
with good signal strength.
If the Radio Status buton is yellow, the connecion status is in idle
state.
If the Radio Status Buton is red, then no connecion exists.
(Step 4) Verify the Service Status
Ater pressing the Radio Status buton, look for Service Status. It
should say "pending..."
(Step 5) Activate and Transmit Panel Alarms (Using the
Cellular Radio Network)
If a POTS module has been installed and a phone line is atached to

the Control Panel, unplug the telco line. A Phone Line Failure Alert
should appear.
To acivate the Cell Radio Module, press Cell Phone Test on the

Radio Modem Status screen.
While the cell phone test occurs, a status message appears.

If the cell phone test passes (thus acivaing the cell radio module)

the Radio Status buton on the Installer Toolbox Screen appears
green and registered on the Radio Status Screen.
It may take several seconds for the acivaion informaion to

propagate back to the Control Panel and update the service status
to registered.
Once acivated all remaining signals will be sent to the
