RECOMMENDATION: Once the Suros
®
ATEC
console is in position in the
procedure room, the console casters should
be locked by depressing the caster levers.
Locking the console casters will minimize
movement during the procedure.

Set Up and Use
The ATEC
handpiece tray
is designed to
fit comfortably
into the top of
the console.
Spike the saline bag and gently squeeze saline
to ensure unobstructed flow. (Saline can be
viewed in the clear section of tubing on
the saline line.)
Connect the
red
handpiece line to
the
handpiece
red
receptacle located
on the user
interface. If you
are performing an
ultrasound or stereotactic-guided biopsy, connect
to the
red
receptacle marked US/STX. If you are
performing an MRI-guided breast biopsy,
connect to the
red
receptacle marked MRI.

Locate the 4 connection lines at the

handpiece tubing.
Insert clear section of saline tubing

into Saline PV (pinch valve).
Upon system initialization,

console defaults to "BIOPSY."
Manual Aspiration
Retest Handpiece
The canister and lid assembly
fits into the holder on top of
the console. Connect the
blue

fitting of the ATEC
Vacuum
Line Assembly to the
"VACUUM"
port located
on top of the canister lid.
(Make sure the
fitting is
blue

seated against the canister lid.)

Connect the ATEC
handpiece vacuum line
to the "PATIENT"
port of the canister
lid.

Connect the black handpiece line to the
black handpiece receptacle located on the

user interface.
Choose "SET UP"
and the
green
"VACUUM
READY"
light will illuminate
when adequate
vacuum is achieved.
(At this time, verify
the presence of saline
in the tissue filter
and needle aperture.)
