It has been designed for a maximum service life at nominal load, the mounted ionisation flame monitor is type approved. In applications involving 50 switching processes per day, this service life is set at around 10 years.

A high voltage is generated from an input voltage (mains voltage), which generates an ignition spark at the gas nozzle.
