  • Page 3 Please read these instructions and store them in a safe place for future reference. 1 This manual refers to the following products Partnr: 10.000 KITE STANDARD powered air visor. Including: charger, 1x set spare comfort pads, 1x disposable dusthood, 2x P3 filters, 3x tear-off visors.
  • Page 4 • Warning: Only use the KITE with the blower switched on. In the power-off state no respiratory protection is to be expected, and there will be a rapid build up of carbon dioxide and depletion of oxygen may occur. • For reasons of hygiene, the KITE should preferably be used by one individual.
  • Page 5 4.2 Filter • The KITE unit may only be used in combination with original KITE filters. • The filter of the KITE must be used in accordance with the characteristics of the hazardous materials which are encountered, see instructions provided with the filter.
  • Page 6 4.3. Check of flow • Switch the KITE on by pressing the ON/OFF button. After +/- 15 seconds a signal sounds to confirm the correct function of the electronic control unit. • Wait for another 1 minute in order to be sure that the motor speed is constant.

    5 Maintenance and Inspection After every use the following parts should be examined in order to ensure safe and comfortable use. 5.1 Filter • Filter: the filter cannot be cleaned; replace when needed. • Warning: do not use compressed air in attempt to clean the filter. 5.2 Face seal Kite •...
  • Page 10  Step 6: remove the face seal. • Step 7: place a new face seal by starting with the right side, and sliding the plastic strip under the screw. Turn the screw clockwise, but do not over tighten. • Step 8: slide the plastic strip on the right side under the inner edge of the visor clamp.
  • Page 11 5.3 face seal Kite Welding/Opti • Face seal: This part must be highly elastic and may not have holes. In case of doubt exchange according to the following procedure:  Step 1: remove the forehead comfort pad.  Step 2: slide the black plastic strip from the face seal away from the screws.
  • Page 12  Step 2: Open and remove the visor clamp. • Step 3: Slide the motor unit from the corresponding slides in the visor. • Step 4: Remove the face seal. See 5.2 • Step 5: Remove the headgear. • Step 6: Take new visor and slide the motor unit back into the corresponding slides in the visor.
  • Page 13 5.6 Batteries • Defective batteries can only be replaced by authorised distributor workshops. 5.7 Charger • A defective charger cannot be repaired but has to be replaced by a new one. 5.8 Cleaning and disinfecting • Clean the KITE using a cloth with a mixture of water and a mild detergent. Do not use any solvents.

  • Page 20  Der Anwender muss mit der Handhabung des KITE vertraut und geschult sein.  Warnhinweis: Benutzen Sie den KITE nur bei eingeschaltetem Gebläse. Bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät kann keine oder nur eine geringe Atemschutzfunktion des Gerätes erwartet werden. Es besteht die Gefahr einer sofortigen, starken Anreicherung von Kohlendioxid.
  • Page 21  Das Ladegerät ist nur für den Einsatz in Innenräumen konzipiert und sollte nur in einer trockenen Umgebung aufbewahrt und benutzt werden.  Die Laufzeit einer vollgeladenen Batterie in Kombination mit einem neuen KITE Filter beträgt ca. 7 Stunden.  Warnhinweis: Laden Sie keine Batterien in einer potentiell explosiven Umgebung.
  • Page 22  ACHTUNG: Sowohl auf dem Gehäuse als auch auf dem Filter befindet sich ein geöffnetes Schloss als Symbol. Bitte beachten Sie unbedingt, dass die beiden geöffneten Schlösser beim Einlegen des Filters zueinander zeigen. (Offenes Schloss an Offenes Schloss). Befestigen Sie den Filter, indem Sie ihn im Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis er mit einem Klick einrastet.

    5 Wartung und Inspektion Nach jeder Benutzung sollten folgende Teile auf Verschleiß untersucht werden, um eine sichere und komfortable Nutzung zu gewährleisten. 5.1 Filter  Filter: Der Filter kann nicht gereinigt werden und muss bei Bedarf ausgetauscht werden.  Warnhinweis: Filter dürfen nicht mit Druckluft gereinigt werden. 5.2 Gesichtsabdichtung KITE ...
  • Page 27  Schritt 6: Entfernen Sie die Gesichtsabdichtung.  Schritt Ersetzen Gesichtsabdichtung. Starten Sie an der rechten oder linken Seite und schieben Sie den Kunststoffstreifen unter die Schraube. Schrauben Sie die Schraube im Uhrzeigersinn fest, nicht zu fest anziehen.  Schritt 8: Schieben Sie den Plastikstreifen auf der jeweiligen Seite unter den inneren Rand der Visierklemme.
  • Page 28 5.3 Gesichtsabdichtung KITE Welding /Opti  Gesichtsabdichtung: Die Gesichtsabdichtung darf nicht porös sein (muss elastisch sein, keine Löcher dürfen zu sehen sein). Sollte dies der Fall sein, muss diese ausgetauscht werden.  Schritt 1: Entfernen Sie das Vorderkopf Komfort-Polster.  Schritt 2: Ziehen Sie den Schwarze Kunststoffstreifen an der Gesichtsabdichtung aus der Halterung.

Bitte benutzen Sie keine Lösungsmittel und achten Sie während der Reinigung darauf, dass kein Wasser in die Gebläse-Einheit dringt.

Na +/- 15 seconden klinkt een pieptoon die aangeeft dat de elektronica correct functioneert. • Wacht gedurende 1 minuut totdat de motorsnelheid constant is. • Plaats de luchtstroommeter verticaal op de luchtuitlaat.

Een pieptoon is na +/- 15 seconden hoorbaar die aangeeft dat de elektronica correct functioneert. • Plaats de KITE op het hoofd, en stel de hoofdband in door indrukken en draaien van de draaiknop op de achterzijde.

    5 Onderhoud en inspectie Na elk gebruik dienen de volgende onderdelen geïnspecteerd te worden om een veilig en comfortabel gebruik te waarborgen: 5.1 Filter • Filter: het filter kan niet worden gereinigd; vervang het indien nodig. • Waarschuwing: gebruik nooit luchtdruk om het filter of andere onderdelen de reinigen.
  • Page 44  Stap 6: verwijder de gezichtsafdichting. • Stap 7: plaats een nieuwe gezichtsafdichting door deze eerst rechts onder de schroef de schuiven. Draai de schroef aan, maar niet te vast. • Stap 8: schuif de plastic strip rechts achter het haakje aan de binnenzijde van de ruitspanners.

  • Page 47 5.8 Reinigen en desinfecteren • Maak de KITE schoon met een vochtige doek gedrenkt in een oplossing van water en milde zeep. Gebruik geen oplosmiddelen. Stel zeker dat tijdens het schoonmaken geen water in the motor unit binnendringt. De motor unit nooit in water onderdompelen.

    5 Entretien et inspection Après chaque utilisation, les pièces suivantes doivent être inspectées pour garantir une utilisation sûre et confortable : 5.1 Filtre • Filtre : le filtre n'est pas lavable ; remplacez-le si nécessaire. • Avertissement : n'utilisez jamais d'air comprimé pour nettoyer le filtre ou d'autres pièces.
