Parts cleaning tank

DO nOt operate the cleaning tank if any parts are missing or damaged as this may cause failure and/or possible personal injury.

DO nOt operate the cleaning tank when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

the tank is not suitable for paint thinners, gun wash or air drying.

When not in use switch the cleaning tank off, remove plug from the power supply.

intrODuctiOn

the SM40.V2 is a one-piece tank, with triple baked enamel finish and fitted with fully sealed, magnetic drive pump unit. The fluid is
recirculated through replaceable filter element and directed on to the work-piece through a flexible metal delivery nozzle. The tank is of
80 litre capacity, suitable for cleaning larger engine components. The tank lid is fitted with a fusible link which automatically snaps
shut in the event of fire. The unit comes with a removable shelf and parts basket.

4. assemblY
4.1.
unpacking
4.1.1.
check the contents in the course of unpacking the cleaning tank. should there be any damaged or missing parts contact the supplier
immediately.
4.2.
assemblY
4.2.1.
open carton and remove lower shelf. open lid and remove the pump housing set, form the inner box, parts basket and legs from the
tub. close lid of tub and close carton flaps.
4.2.2.
carefully turn the carton with unit upside down (in order to protect against scratching the unit) and open the bottom of carton.
4.2.3.
Assemble legs to the brackets on the bottom of the tub with pan screws, spring washers and hex nuts, (hand tight only).
4.2.4.
set the lower shelf between the four legs and fix with pan screws, spring washer and hex nuts. level the shelf and tighten screws.
4.2.5.
now tighten the leg screws and turn assembled unit up correct way onto its legs and remove the outer carton.
4.2.6.
Position unit according to safety instructions in chapter 1.
4.2.7.
open lid and place the electrical pump housing through the rectangular hole on the side of tub.
4.2.8.
Place the work shelf onto the two welded supports inside the tank.
4.2.9.
screw the 90
connector into the welded bolt on pump housing, then fit the tube to the 90

4.2.10.
check that the tank drain plug is correctly inserted and tightened.
4.2.11.
Place the parts basket on work shelf. check your installation to ensure the unit is ready for use.
5.
Operating instructiOns
Warning! ensure you have read, understood and apply section 1 safety instructions before using the cleaner.
5.1.
check that the pump power switch is in the off position, and that the unit is unplugged from the mains power supply.
5.2.
fill the tank to appropriate capacity with sealey solvent, or a general purpose degreaser (contact your local dealer for supply).
DO nOt use any other type of solvent.

cautiOn! ensure you follow any instructions provided with the solvent.
5.3.
Plug the washer into the mains power supply and switch the unit on. check that solvent flows freely through the flexible spigot.
5.4.
Place parts to be cleaned into the cleaning basket. direct spray nozzle onto parts. ensure any splash back stays inside the tank.
If not reposition the spray nozzle. For ground-in marks, leave the parts to soak in the bottom of the tank. Brush parts with cleaning
brush if required. turn off the pump and leave the parts to drain either in the basket or, if too large, on the shelf.
5.5.
When complete turn the washer off and unplug from the mains power supply.

with local authority regulations.
5.6.
Keep the cleaning tank clean. remove and clean the filter regularly for best and safest performance.
Warning! When cleaning parts, ensure that nothing in the tank, including any parts basket, is in a position that would
prevent the lid from closing fully if, and when, the fusible link activates.
