You'll also need

- A smart device compatible with Bluetooth v4.0
(Bluetooth Low Energy) technology using iOS

operating system.
- A SportIQ-enabled App which can be freely
downloaded from Apple App store™ for iOS and
Google play™ for Android.

Quick start guide

1.
Check the setting of your smart device to
make sure that its Bluetooth radio is
enabled.
2.
Launch SportIQ-enabled App on your
smart device.
3.
Firmly shake SportIQ Smart Tag in your

4.
Follow on-screen instructions to use
SportIQ Smart Tag.

Troubleshooting

1. SportIQ Smart Tag fails to connect to the
SportIQ-enabled App.
- Verify that the Bluetooth connection of your smart
device is activated and supports BLE devices.
- Tag activation sequence is purposely set to high
acceleration levels to prevent battery drain due to
unwanted tag activations. Try to activate the tag
again.
- Try to close SportIQ-enabled App completely
(including its inactive state at the background of
your operating system) and restart it. At the same
time, reactivate the Bluetooth radio of your smart
device. Make sure to reactivate the tag after the
restart to make sure that the tag has not gone to
sleep mode.
- Check that your smart device uses the latest
software versions of the operating system and
SportIQ-enabled App. Sometimes the operating
system (iOS and Android) handles Bluetooth
connections unexpectedly and updates often
improve the robustness of Bluetooth connections.
- The battery of the tag might have drained out.
2. SportIQ Smart Tag appears on the SportIQ-
enabled App screen but it unexpectedly
disconnects or fails to send data.
- Make sure that your smart device hasn't exceeded
its maximum number of Bluetooth connections.
Bluetooth connections are sometimes unreliable if
the tag is used in a location with a great number of
other WiFi or Bluetooth signals.
- Make sure that the tag stays within the specified
maximum range for Bluetooth low energy devices.
In open areas, the maximum range is approximately
100 m / 330 ft. Typically, ranges below 33 m / 100 ft
should not cause problems if there are no solid
objects between the tag and the smart device.
- The battery of the tag might have drained out.
3. SportIQ-enabled App fails to analyze data with
expected accuracy.
- The built-in accelerometer should be calibrated
from time to time to prevent accuracy loss.
Especially so, if the tag is used in temperatures far
from nominal room temperatures. Follow the
instructions given by the SportIQ-enabled App to
calibrate your tag.
