8. OPERATING TROUBLE

Before any servicing, DISCONNECT POWER from the pump.
PROBLEM
8.1 THE PUMP DOES NOT START
WHEN SWITCHED ON
8.2 MOTOR STOPS DURING NORMAL
OPERATION

8.3 THE PUMP IS NOISY

CAUSE
a) Fuses faulty:
b) Power supply voltage:
c) The motor is seized:
a) Fuse rating incorrect:
b) The thermal relay has been activated:
c) The motor is blocked by a foreign
body:
d) The ipsothermal protection sensor
has been triggered (terminals 10-15
for models with flanges):
a) The pump is cavitating due to lack of
pressure at inlet:
b) Rotation direction incorrect:
c) Incorrect speed selection:
d) Problem in the installation:
SOLUTION
a) Check fuses.
b) Check power supply voltage.
c) - If the motor is set to an intermediate or low
speed, change the selector to a high speed
setting.
- If the motor still does not start on the high
speed setting, remove the motor from the
pump body and free the motor by turning
manually.
a) Check fuses (rating).
b) Check setting with respect to rating plate.
- Check current drawn on each phase.
c) See 8.1.
d) Check water temperature.
- Check electricity supply.
Note: The sensor resets itself once the motor
has cooled down.
a) Increase circuit pressure.
b) Check that rotation direction is correct.
c) Check the operating point and speed selec-
tion. If necessary, adjust speed selection.
d) Check purge of installation.
