TOM works well together with batteries or
an USB adapter. Depending on which one
you choose, TOM will automatically adapt

its behaviour when joining a new network.
If you install TOM with an USB adapter,
TOM is permanently powered. TOM will
behave like a "ZigBee Router" (ZR) in the
network. As such TOM has the advantage
that it is always reachable for other ZigBee
modules. In addition, TOM will improve the
quality of the ZigBee network.

Do you want to install TOM with batteries?

That is also possible. TOM is set to a power
saving "sleep" mode, so that less power is
used. TOM will behave like a "ZigBee End
Device" (ZED) in the network.
