Solution/Action:
To solve the problem the Key/Display Board has to be modified. Follow the instructions
shown below.
The modification requires the instruments' cover to be
removed. REMOVE THE POWER CORD BEFORE
STARTING REPAIR! Energy available at some points can,
if contacted, result in serious personal injury.
Because the instrument's covers are removed and boards are
taken out of the frame, the parts are to be installed at a stat-
ic-free workstation.
To get access to the keyboard:
Follow the instructions 'Installation of Keyboard Assembly' shown in the Service
Manual, page 2-13.
Remove the 8 screws fastening the keyboard to the front plate and carefully remove the
board. Remove the ribbon cable from A1J1.
