Information about this operating manual
Please read the operating instructions and familiarise yourself with the unit prior to using it for the first
time. Adhere to the safety information for the correct and safe use of the unit.
Intended use
FIAP Mystic Active, in the following text termed unit, is intended of ponds and gardens.
Use other than that intended
Danger to persons can emanate from this unit if it is not used in accordance with the intended use and
in the case of misuse. If used for purposes other than that intended, our warranty and operating permit
will become null and void.
CE Manufacturer's Declaration
We declare conformity in the sense of the low voltage directive (73/23/EEC). The following harmonised
standards apply:
EN 60598-2-7, EN 61558-1, EN 61558-2-6, EN 60825-1
Safety information
FIAP has manufactured this unit to the current state of the art and the valid safety regulations. Despite
of the above, hazards for persons and assets can emanate from this unit if it is used in an improper
manner or not in accordance with its intended use, or if the safety instructions are ignored.
For safety reasons, children and young persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who
cannot recognise possible danger or who are not familiar with these operating instructions, are
not permitted to use the unit!
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place! Also hand over the operating instructions
when passing the unit on to a new owner. Ensure that all work with this unit is only carried out in
accordance with these instructions.
The combination of water and electricity can lead to danger to life and limb, if the unit is incorrectly
connected or misused.
Attention! Danger of electric shock. Ensure that the cable connection points and their
surroundings are dry.
Do not let the device run dry. Vibrations can irreparably damage the ceramic membrane.
Protect the connection cable when burying to avoid damage. Only use cables approved for outside
use. Ensure that the power connection cable cross section is not smaller than that of the rubber sheath
with the identification H05RN-F. Extension cables must meet DIN VDE 0620. Only use unwound
cables. Electrical installations in garden ponds and swimming ponds must meet the national and
international regulations valid for installers. Compare the electrical data of the supply with those on the
unit type plate. This data must coincide.
Never operate the unit if the cable or housing are defective! Disconnect the power! Do not carry or pull
the unit by the connection cable.
Attention! Install the safety transformer at a flood protected place and provide a minimum spacing of 2
m from the pond edge. Never open the unit housing or its attendant components, unless this is
explicitly mentioned in the operating instructions. Always disconnect the power supply of all units
located in water and of this unit prior to performing work on the unit! For your own safety, consult a
qualified electrician if you have questions or encounter problems!

Set-up and start-up
Maintain a safety distance of at least 50 cm from combustible material. Ensure a safe seating. Do not
cover the unit. Danger of fire! Position the unit such that it does not present a hazard for anybody.
Connect the power plug of the pond foger to the socket of the transformer bush. Connect the
transformer to the power supply. Check the pond foger function. The ultrasonic diffuser may only be
operated with the membrane intact. Protect the power supply unit from frost. Make sure no water flows
down the lead into the power supply unit. This could cause an electric shock or short-circuit. While the
device is operating, do not dip any object or put your fingers into the water fountain above the ceramic
membrane, since there is a low voltage around the membrane which, even if not dangerous, can
cause localized pain. Place the ultrasonic diffuser in water so that it is a least 5 mm above the water
level monitor. This is because the diffuser can only work if the water reaches this minimum level. Light
and colour can also be used to achieve interesting effects. On an average, the ultrasonic diffuser
diffuses approx. ¼ litre of water (diffuser with several more membranes correspondingly) per operating
hour. If necessary, you can occasionally add a small amount of perfume or two or three drops of
essential oil in order to create a pleasant odour in the room. The ceramic membrane is subject to wear.
Its service life depends upon the operating period, water hardness and water purity. The membrane is
therefore not covered by guarantee. If the membrane becomes defective or the fog effect decreases to
a large extent, replace the ceramic membrane with a new one. Since the membrane is very sensitive,
you must make sure it is not scratched or damaged in any other way.
Cleaning
Adhere to the safety instruction! Only use water and a soft brush. Ensure that no moisture can enter
the unit. In order to keep the device in proper working condition, we recommend regular cleaning,
especially of the metal tab that provides contact with the water level monitor. Take the diffuser out of
the water vessel and carefully remove any sediment. Calcium deposits can be removed using proof
vinegar.
During the winter
In frost the device must be uninstalled. Carry out a thorough cleaning, check the device for damage
and keep the pump dipped or filled and frost-free. The plug may not be flooded! A freezing of the
device can lead to damages of the swimming body and the pump.
Disposal
Dispose of the unit in accordance with the national legal regulations.
