CONNECTING THE
SECURITY+ 2.0 ADAPTOR
1) Determine where you will mount the adaptor. It should be close to your garage door
opener. We suggest you mount it on the ceiling just above the door opener. It must be
within the distance of the included white wire as this white wire connects to your garage
door opener.
2) Use the included electrical connectors to connect the 2 Tailwind control wires to the 2
short black wires on the adaptor. There is no polarity to these, so it does not matter which
Tailwind control wire you connect to which short black wire on the adaptor.
3) Make sure there is nothing obstructing your garage door from opening or closing, in-
cluding you or any other person or property. The following instructions will cause your
door to move!
4) Connect the long white / red wire pair to the control inputs on your garage door open-
er. For Chamberlain door openers, these are typically a red terminal and white terminal
beside each other. Connect the red wire to the red terminal and the white wire to the
white terminal. The button should illuminate if you have made the connections properly.
Once these connection are made, BE CAREFUL!!! If you accidentally press the button, your
garage door may open or close!
3) Mount the adaptor anywhere convenient. Mounting screws have been included for your
convenience.
4) Re-confirm there are no obstructions in the way of your garage door. Press the button
on the adaptor a few times until it opens or closes your garage door.
Your installation is now complete. You can now open close your garage door using your
Tailwind system.
