Using Externally powered Short Haul Modems with EK1000N

Introduction
This Technical Bulletin describes how to connect an Easikey 1000N, with externally powered
short haul modems (SHM), to a PTSN modem via a COS dataswitch.

Power is supplied to the SHM via a 17V 0.7A power supply.

Wiring Details
EK1000N to Short Haul Modem
Note: The SHM requires a 25 way, male, D-type connector.
The SHM must have switch S1 set to DTE and switch S2 set to EN (both switches are
located in a recess on the underside of the modem).
