CAUTIONARY NOTICE Using the unit for purposes and in situations apart from its intended function can lead to damages and void your warranty. The conditions of misuse include but are not restricted to: • Do not discharge any acids, alkaloids, solvents painting, paint strippers, food waste, plastic bags, metal such as nails, hairpins, wood, building materials, kitty litter or anything that could halt or damage or corrode the unit.
INTRODUCTION The Silent Venus macerator is a residential pumping system for toilet and other bathroom fixtures. The tank collects sewage from toilets, showers, and bathtubs via the simple principle of gravity. A built-in pressure switch detects the incoming waste and starts a pump combined with cutting blades. This pump works in tandem with several cutting blades to convert the sewage into a fluid form which can be easily pumped into drains via small-diameter pipes.
STANDARD OPERATION In order to function, The Silent Venus unit consists of three major parts: o The container, which securely houses the operating mechanism o A pressure chamber, which activates and deactivates the pump o The induction motor, which drives the cutting blade and the impeller For effective use, the macerating unit should be connected to a rear spigot outlet toilet via the toilet’s outlet on the wall, and the waste collected should be discharged into a...
For users wanting to pump in both vertical and horizontal directions, the following calculations should be used: • 3 feet of a vertical lift is roughly equivalent to 30 feet of a horizontal run • A bend or change in direction would result in some losses which must be deducted from the overall discharge performance.
SANITARY INLETS In addition to the large inlet on the front of the unit that's designed for a toilet, the macerating unit is equipped with two additional 2" inlets, one on either side of the case. The macerating unit is connected to the drainpipes of sanitary fittings in the toilet and bathroom via two inlets.
SEWER PIPE CONNECTION Using a 1 1/2-inch branch hub, install a standard wye fitting connecting the discharge pipe to a sewer pipe. If the discharge pipe is made of copper, purchase a brass male adapter ((MPT x Hub) 3/4" x 3/4" sweat) for the subsequent steps. If it is a CPVC pipe, then a CPVC male adapter ((MPT x Hub) 3/4"...
PRE-INSTALLATION TIPS GRAVITY FALL The unit accepts wastewater by gravity; it does not “vacuum” in water. All inlet pipe work must have a positive gravity fall, (1/4" per foot). All horizontal piping from the macerating unit must also have a positive gravity fall to allow free drainage when the pump stops.
Page 11
PIPE WORK All pipe work should be either copper, PVC or CPVC (Do not use flexible pipes). Hangers should not be less than three feet apart to prevent pipe rattling. DISCHARGE Never discharge directly into an open drain, fixture, manhole or rainwater drainpipe.
AVOID DIRECT FALL Where the point of discharge into the soil stack is significantly lower than the base of the unit, a vacuum relief valve may need to be fitted at the highest point in the pipe run in order to avoid siphonage of the water seal.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 PLACE THE TOILET Place the toilet bowl in a position where it does not come in contact with a wall or room partition. For the resilient mounts to function effectively, the bowl must be placed on a perfectly leveled surface. The distances between the fastenings and the discharge pipe must not exceed 3ft (1m).

3B.) CONNECT THE INLET PIPES There are three inlet connections; two on the side a It is not necessary to connect them all, however, you must fill any unused inlet with the provided plugs Only straight vertical sections and horizontal sections with small gravity fall. Caution: DO NOT INSTALL DIAGONALLY These connections must be properly secured by placing the clamps over each opposing side of the gaskets and tightening.

C.) CONNECT THE DISCHARGE PIPE For effective use, the macerating unit should be connected to a rear spigot outlet toilet via the toilet’s outlet on the wall, and the waste collected should be discharged into a drainage pipe with a minimum diameter of 3/4"...
STEP 5 CARBON FILTER & DESCALER (RECOMMENDED) Open the lid and insert carbon filter. Close the lid back in place. You may also connect this to an air vent. De-Scaler fluid is recommended at least once a month to prevent buildup on the unit.
INSTALLATION COMPLETE! QUESTIONS? Do not hesitate to contact us at: support@thesilentvenus.com NORMAL OPERATING PROCEDURES Once the toilet is flushed or water leaves your bathtub or shower, the waste (both human waste and toilet paper from the toilet or dirty water from the bathtub or shower) enters the macerating unit.

TROUBLESHOOTING The macerating unit is very reliable. With normal use long service is assured. However, in certain cases an incident may occur which you may rectify yourself. Before taking any action check the following points: o Plumbing system. Flush system, water supply turned on. o Electrical system.
o If the unit would not be used for a long period of time, either due to vacation or maintenance purposes, or even instances of power failure, ensure that the water supply to the tank is completely turned off. Then, flush the unit to remove the remaining water in the tank.
CUTTER BLADES CAUTION: The blades are sharp and should be handled with extreme care. The blades can be easily removed if they ever require replacement. Simply remove the retaining cir-clip on top of the blade/rotor assembly and lift rotor/blade assembly off the spindle. The blades can now be slid sideways, removed and replaced.
