Once the kettle is re-located on the power base, it can be switched on again at any time. If the switch will not stay down it means the control is still a little warm; this is normal and it will simply re-set itself in a few seconds when cooled and will be ready to boil again.
We suggest use of a kettle descaler in order to dissolve the scale. Simply follow the manufacturer’s guidelines on the packaging. Alternatively pour in enough white vinegar to cover the bottom of the kettle by about 2cm. Bring the vinegar to the boil; you may need to repeat this several times with cooled vinegar to remove the build-up completely.
