TS1053 3G Communication Module
Installation Sheet
Description
The TS1053 3G Communication Module provides a GSM
(wireless) connection to applications such as supported
management software. Refer to (Figure 1 below) for details.

Installation
The interface module is plugged in to a Challenger Series
control panel PCB's expander slot. Power to the panel must be
off during installation.
Note:
A qualified service person, complying with all applicable
codes, should perform all required hardware installation.
In order to configure a TS1053 module, you need to have a
Micro SIM card from your carrier (for example, Telstra) to
provide a data connection via an access point name (APN).
You will need to enter (at least) the APN in "Programming" on
page 2.
Note:
Insert the Micro SIM card into the module only when the
Challenger panel is disconnected from all power sources or
before the module is installed.
To install a Micro SIM:
1.
Slide the SIM holder cover to the open position, as shown
in Figure 2 below, item 2.

Gently lift the SIM holder cover to expose the SIM holder's
terminals, item 3.
3.
Insert
Micro SIM with the contacts facing the terminals,

Close the cover and move it to the lock position.

Note:
Avoid touching the SIM holder's terminals or the
Micro SIM's contacts.
