- Install it well
This means that the appliance should be installed
away from heat sources or dire ct sunlight in a well-
ventilated room.
- Correct temperature setti ngs
Set the refrigerator temperature knob to one of the
medium settings. Very low temperatures will not only
consume a great deal of energy but will neither im-
prove or lengthen the storage life of the food. Exces-
sively low temperature may in fact spoil vegetables,
cold meats and cheese.
- Do not overfill
Remember that proper storage of food requires good
air circulation. Overfilling your appliance will prevent
this circulation and overwork the compressor.
Keeping Your Appliance in Shape
Defrosting
WARNING: do not damage the refrigerati on circuit.
Do not use mechanical devices or other tools to speed
up the defrosting proces s, unless they have been rec -
ommended by the manufacturer.
How to Defrost the Refrigerator
This appliance defrosts automaticall y and the water is
drained to the back towards the drai n pipe installed for this
purpose (fig. 1). Here, th e heat produced by the compr es-
sor will make it evapor ate. The only thing y ou must do is to
periodically check and clea n the hole of the drain, wh ich
is located behind the vegetable crispers, so that the w ater
drains properly.

How to Defrost the Freez er Compartment
- Every so often, remove th e frost with the scraper provided
with the appliance (d o not use knives or me tal objects).
- If the frost is more than 5 mm th ick, the freezer must be
defrosted.
Proceed as follows: tu rn the thermostat knob (A) to the ·
setting . Then wrap all the frozen and fast-frozen food in
newspaper, placing it either in the refriger ator or in a cool
place. Leave the freezer door open so that the f rost thaws
completely. You can sp eed this process by pl acing con-
tainers of warm water i n the compartment.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance from the mains before
cleaning.
- Your appliance is man ufactured with hygi enic odourless
materials. To preserv e these characteris tics, always use
sealed containers for s trong smelling f oods to avoid the
formation of odours that are difficul t to remove.

- Shut the door
Open your appliance only when strictly necessary;
remember that every time you open the door most of the
cold air will be lost. The motor will have to run, and consume
energy, to restore the correct temperature.
- Check the door gaskets
Keep the gaskets clean and soft so that they fit closely
against the door to ensure that no cold air is lost.
- Never store hot foods
A container of hot food in the refrig erator will increase the
temperature significantl y ; allow food to cool to room tem-
perature before storing.
- Use only a water and bicarb onate solution: Clean the i n-
ternal and exterior of your appliance wi th a sponge
soaked with a warm water and sodiu m bicarbonate solu-
tion, which is also a good di sinfectant. If you do not hav e
any sodium bicarbonate at home, us e neutral detergent.
- What not to use: Do n ot use abrasive deter gents, bleach
or detergents containi ng ammonia. Never use sol vent-
based products.
- Dishwashable: All th e removable parts can be cl eaned
by soaking in hot soapy water or detergent. If you own a
dishwasher, you may wash these parts in the dishwasher.
Remember to dry thorou ghly before replaci ng them.
- What about the bac k panel? Dust may d eposit on the
back panel and affect the pr oper running of the appl i-
ance. To remove dust, vacuum away the dust ver y care-
fully using the appropriate vac uum cleaner accessory .
- Discontinued use of the appliance: If the appliance is not
in use for any length of time, remember to cl ean the inte-
rior and dry thoroughl y, leaving the door open t o prevent
the formation of bad od ours and mould.
- As a result of thermal stra in for components of a refri gera-
tor appliance can be heard crackling noise that i s not a
defect and doesn't affect ef ficiency of the applian ce. This
special sound when the thermoregulator and compress or
are turned on is a normal state, which appears during the
working process of th e appliance's electri c installation.
- Do Not locate hot (over 60 0 C) subjects on the upper
plane of refrigerator.
- Replacing the lamp. The l amp for lighting the interior of
the appliance is located at th e back of the lamp box. Un-
screw the burnt lamp and replace it with an other lamp of
no more than 15 Watt, follow the instructions illu strated in
fig. 2

Is there a Problem?

The refrigerator do not cool properly.
Have you checked whether:
The door does not close well or the seals are faulty;
The door is left open too long;
The thermostat knob is not on the proper setting;
The refri g erator is overfill e d.
The food in the refrigerator becomes too cold.
Have you checked whether:
The thermostat knob is on the proper setting;
The food is in contact with the back wall - which is
the coldest part.
The motor runs continuously.
Have you checked whether
The door is not closed well or have remained open
too long;
The ambient temperature is too high;

The appliance makes too much noise.
The gas refrigerant produces a slight noise even when the
compressor is not running (this is not a defect).
Have you checked whether:
The refri g erator is levell .
The appliance was installed between cabinets or ob-
jects that vibrate and make noi s e.
There is water on the bottom of the refrigerator.
Have you checked whether:
The hole for draining the water from the frost i s
clogged (see fig. 1).
If after all the checks, the appliance still does not operate
or the pr oblem per sists, call the nearest Service Centre
and inform them of: the type of probl e m, the abbrevi a tion
of the model name (Mod.) and the relative numbers (S/N)
written on the rating plate located at the bottom left next
to the vegetable crisper.
Never call on unauthorized technicians and always re-
fuse spare parts, which are not originals.
