    Firmware The instrument is set up, operated, and maintained using its built-in, menu-driven firmware. It can be controlled locally or remotely: • Locally, from the front of the instrument. The front panel of the instrument front panel has a single-line display of 24 characters and a set of six keys for running the firmware.

Temperature Sensor The temperature sensor is the key element in the system. It is mounted on the end of the probe.     Probe Length Signal level decreases as the fiber length increases. The losses experienced vary by fiber type. The use of multiple connectors and extensions also reduces signal level.
