  • Page 15: Description

Odetics Telecom GPStarplus Model 365 DESCRIPTION The instrument's internal GPS receiver uses the Coarse Acquisition (C/A) code transmitted by the NAVSTAR GPS satellites as timing reference. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a constellation of satellites that transmits time and navigation information.
  • Page 16: Specifications

Odetics Telecom GPStarplus Model 365 Section 2 Specifications GENERAL The unit is designed for reliable and maintenance free operation. All connectors are located on the rear panel of the unit for ease of accessibility. The unit consists of a chassis that can be mounted in a 19-inch equipment cabinet with the supplied removable mounting handles.
  • Page 17: Time Locked

Odetics Telecom GPStarplus Model 365 2.2.1.4 Time Locked In the Time Locked mode the unit's major and minor time is synchronized to UTC. The 1 PPS output from the unit's internal GPS receiver is used to discipline the internal oscillator and the phase of the 1 PPS output reference pulse. The effects of Selective Availability are averaged out to minimize errors otherwise caused by Selective Availability.
  • Page 18: Recovering

Odetics Telecom GPStarplus Model 365 2.2.1.6 Recovering In the Recovering mode the unit adjusts the internal timing and/or the frequency of the internal oscillator until the Time Locked mode criteria is met. Expect an eventual transition to the Time Locked mode (unless changing conditions prevent this; for instance: loss of tracked satellites, or change of internal offset selection).
