- Page 2 2. Gently squeeze handle until you see the metal pin in cartridge and safety catch clicks into engaged position. 1. Peel off the backing paper and remove the cartridge from the blister. Place the covered cartridge into the cartridge channel on the instrument and ensure it locks firmly into position.
