Operating Instructions for the Semak Food Steamer

1. Make sure that the knob is in the "OFF" position.
2. Plug into an earthed 220-240V AC power supply.
3. Remove the stainless steel Basket. Fill the vessel with water until it touches the
bottom of the stainless steel basket.
4. Turn the switch knob on the warmer until the dial reaches high for maximum
heat and allow the water to boil.
5. Place raw ingredients or foods into the stainless steel basket and fit the basket
inside the steamer. Put the lid on the steamer.
6. When the contents of the pot have reached the desired temperature turn the
control knob back to the "keep warm" position which will hold the contents of
the pot at around 85 ºC.
7. Foodstuffs should be maintained above 60ºC to prevent bacterial spoiling.
8. Foods that are placed in the steamer in a frozen state require longer in the
steamer to reach the desired temperature than those placed in the steamer
when defrosted. Care should be taken to ensure that the food has reached the
correct temperature on the inside. The steamer is capable of heating and
cooking food.
9. DO NOT run the steamer when empty. The heating time will vary depending on
the volume of foodstuffs within. Adjustment to the heat settings may be
necessary as quantities vary.
10. When finished heating turn the knob to the "OFF" position.
11. Remove stainless steel bowl and wash. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.
12. NEVER leave the food steamer on unattended. ALWAYS unplug the steamer
after use.
