    1.- INSTALLATION 1.1.- Installation outline See figure 1. 1.2.- Positioning The machine must be firmly secured on the floor, which will support the weight of the washer-extractor and the pressure transmitted while spinning. After unpacking the washer-extractor, the pieces that secure the floating part and the chassis, which are necessary for the transportation must be removed.

    2.- PROGRAMMING 2.1.- Keys description The numeric key utiThis numeric key can be used for all selections. During programming it allows to insert a new step in an existing cycle. During execution it allows to check the number of r.p.m. of the drum in the programmed engine. Numeric keys that can be used in all selections.
  • Page 11 The numeric key can be used for all selections. If pressed during the execution of a programme, it disables all the relays outputs, except the draining relay. PAUSE It is disabled during distribution and spin cycles. It controls the door electromagnet. UNLOCK It is only enabled if the programme is not being executed.
  • Page 12 SIGNAL 2 Unbalance The LED lights on immediately after an unbalance situation, indicating the operator that the machine is experiencing unbalance, at least once, during the execution of the programme. It lights off when the cycle or programme finishes. SIGNAL 3 Feeding fault The LED is activated together with the buzzer in intervals of 1 sec.

Access code 45 When pressing START and RESET simultaneously, the access code for the engines programming will be requested with the message: Entering 45 and then ENTER, will display for two seconds: EDIT MOTORS Enter the number of the engine action to be programmed (1 to 15): MOTOR No.

Enter the required number (between 1 and 99) followed by ENTER, two situations may occur: 1- The selected cycle does not exist in the memory and must be programmed. 2- The selected cycle already exists; in this case it can be displayed and edited. 1- The selected cycle does not exist: the first step programming will be entered immediately and will be displayed for 2 sec.

  • Page 19 NOTE: COOLING PHASE This option is included in the programming steps. Before completing the draining process a cooling step can be carried out. There are 5 parameters to be programmed: MINIMUM LEVEL, MAXIMUM LEVEL, TEMPERATURE, WDT and MOTOR. The operation is as follows: a.- Water discharges to the minimum level b.- Water is loaded to the maximum level and temperature is displayed.
  • Page 20 ENGINE When activated, after pressing ENTER, the number of wash engine related to the required working mode from 1 to 15 is asked. See page 11 Engine Programming. When the required engine has been confirmed with ENTER, the screen will display: RMP = Enter the desired value and press ENTER to confirm.

    Press INS and for 2 seconds the following message will be displayed: START STEP X and then to the question: COOLING ? NO it will require to program the new step with the procedure already described. After having added one or more new steps to the memory and confirmed their memorizing, press STOP. d.- Eliminate one or more existing steps.

    3.- PROGRAMME EXECUTION 3.1.- Programme execution. In order to carry out a wash programme, the following steps must be followed: Put the dirty clothes in the washer-extractor drum. Close the washer extractor door Press the main switch (1) fig. 9. The pilot lights on. When connecting the programmer, and after each self diagnosing phase, the latter is ready for choosing a programme.
  • Page 30 NOTE: During the heating and load/discharge of water, the safety timer WDT is activated, which controls the whole machine. If it reaches its time, an alarm message will be displayed on the screen, indicating that some of the heating, load or discharge phases have not been completed within the maximum allowed time.
  • Page 31 SLOWING DOWN The slowing down procedure is called during the spin cycle, only when the slow or fast spin engine is activated: 1.-In case of swinging 2.-When the ADVANCE key is pressed 3.-When the STOP key is pressed 4.-During the reinitialization process after a disconnection 5.-When the time for a step ends The slowing down is variable, it depends on the time passed since the engine start and if the engine spins fast or slow.
  • Page 32 POWER DOWN If during the execution of a programme a power failure of less than 1 second occurs, this failure will be ignored. If the power failure lasts more than 1 second, the machine will stop. When the power supply comes back the screen displays "RE-START CYCLE ?" and the POWER-DOWN LED of the front panel (signal 3) lights on.

    5.- FAULTS INDICATION The device is constantly controlling the state of temperature and level transductors in order to avoid faults during operation due to the wear of the same. Furthermore, the use of safety timers (WDT), which set a time limit to the water load, discharge and heating phases, avoids possible faults caused by a lack when it comes to filling or emptying the tub or failure to reach the temperature level.
  • Page 48 The most likely causes in this case may be: during the load phase: 1.-Fault in the water inlet solenoid valve 2.-There is no water in the supply line or the flow is very low. 3.-The discharge valve could be clogged, open or closed. 4.-Defective connection between the tub and the level sensor In this case the operator can decide whether to continue with the process, with a reduced water load, by pressing START, or stop the washing process by pressing RESET.

    6.- SERVICE FUNCTIONS MAINTENANCE WARNING The machine requires automatically the intervention of the maintenance service when reaching a certain number of preselected washes (programmes), through the message: MAINT. REQ. This message is displayed at the beginning of each programme, and it is repeated in each successive START until the maintenance technician disables it.
  • Page 50 TEMPERATURE HISTERESIS ACCESS CODE 209 Through access code 209 the temperature histeresis, initialised at 3 ºC, can be displayed. To change the value press ENTER, the new value (min. 1 and max. 10) and ENTER for confirmation. If the displayed value is correct press RESET to exit.   • Page 51 TOTAL NUMBER OF WASHES DISPLAY ACCESS CODE 215 The EL6 is equipped with two counters to control the number of washes (programmes) carried out. The first counter is a simple counter with a value of 65.000 and is used for the total counting of the number of washes.

    8.- INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS For the optimum operation of the machine it is advisable to follow these indications: 1) Install the power unit as close as possible to the control unit. The connection ribbon cannot exceed 20 cm in length. 2) Avoid the routing of powered cables near the two units and the connection ribbon (if possible shield the electronic part from the rest of the installation).
