Compression If fitting into existing pipework cut out a section of pipe, as shown, 260mm for both the 22mm and 28mm size DirtmagIQ Quattro ™ . Fit the two ball valves to the copper Union pipe and hand tighten the two compression nuts. - Page 5 Installation Ensure the direction of flow is as shown, with the flow passing through the dirt Collection Chamber collection chamber followed by the strainer. The blowdown valve must be vertically below the collection chamber as shown. Blowdown valve For horizontal or inclined pipework, loosen the union nut using the tool provided and rotate the dirt collection chamber until it is vertical.

Position and Orientation The diagrams show where the DirtmagIQ Quattro should be installed, which is on the return to the boiler or ™ chiller. Planned Maintenance As part of a planned maintenance programme the following procedure needs to be conducted to ensure that the DirtmagIQ Quattro dirt separator continues to operate efficiently. - Page 7 Planned Maintenance Isolate the DirtmagIQ Quattro using the two ball valves before ™ commencing. The cap on the front or the rear of the strainer cartridge chamber should be removed using the tool for the union joint and the strainer cartridge assembly removed.

Page 8: Initial Flushing
Initial Flushing Once the DirtmagIQ Quattro has been installed the system should be flushed thoroughly to removed debris. ™ Reference should be made to BS EN 14336 ‘Installation & commissioning of water based heating systems’ In a new installation it may only be necessary to remove the internal element and change the strainer cartridge from blue to grey. - Page 9 Remove the cap on the strainer cartridge chamber using the tool for the union joint and remove the strainer cartridge assembly. This should be the BLUE cartridge and the red impurities collector. Using the power flushing kit from Altecnic Fit the BLACK strainer cartridge, do not fit the RED impurities collector, and fit ball valve with hose union.
