Battery pack performance
The battery pack allows you to use your radio away from the mains typically for
between 6 and 10 hours. The battery life available between charges will vary
according to the radio volume and operating mode. The battery pack may be
recharged from empty in approximately 7 hours.

Safety Precautions
• The battery pack is designed only for use with the Roberts Stream 93i and
Stream 83i radios. It should not be used as a battery power source for other
devices.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside this product.
• Do not attempt to open or disassemble any part of the product.
• Do not puncture, crush, modify, or cause any unnecessary shock to the
battery. The battery may present a risk of fi re, explosion or chemical burn if
mistreated.
• Do not dispose of the battery in a fire or incinerator.
• Do not leave, charge or expose the battery to a heat source such as in a car
under direct sunlight.
• Do not expose the battery to moisture.
• Do not use or charge the battery if it appears to be abnormally hot, swollen,
leaking or damaged in any way.
• Do not leave a charging battery unattended.
• The product must only be used with the mains adaptor supplied with your
Stream 93i or Stream 83i radio, or a genuine replacement provided by
Roberts Radio. Do not use any alternative power source as a charger.
• Do not use the battery pack to power any product other than the Roberts
Stream 93i or Stream 83i radio.
• Check the room temperature range is between 0-40°C (32-104°F) before
charging the product/battery.
• Do not allow the product to be exposed to water, steam or sand.
• The product shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects
fi lled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the product.
• Operate the product such that there is a minimum distance (10cm
recommended) to adjacent objects in order to ensure good ventilation. The
ventilation of the product should not be restricted by covering it with items
such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains etc.
• No naked fl ame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the
product.
• Avoid using or storing the product at extremes of temperature. Avoid leaving
the unit in cars, on window sills, in direct sunlight etc.
• Be sure to read additional safety instructions in the user guide for the
Stream 93i or Stream 83i.
Battery pack installation

Tools required – Philips-style cross-head screw drivers, numbers 1 and 2
1. Ensure that the On/Off switch on the battery pack is in the OFF position.
2. Identify the pack of the three new screws supplied with the battery pack
(two short screws, one long screw).
3. Unplug your radio at the mains and disconnect your radio from the mains
adaptor.
4. Remove any audio cables, Ethernet cable or USB memory device.
5. Carefully unclip the aerial and position it to one side.
6. The diagram to the left illustrates which screws need to be removed from
the rear of your radio. (also see tool information below). Remove the three
screws identifi ed ONLY. Do NOT remove any other screws. Set these
screws to one side.

7. Locate the Tube section at the top of the battery pack assembly and
insert into the hole (where the top centre screw was located) above the
rear loudspeaker.
8. Position the battery pack so that its two support lugs are over the two
small empty screw holes.
Note: When inserting the new screws (steps 9 to 11), start by giving the
screw a partial turn anti-clockwise so that it settles in the hole. This will
help the screw to engage with the thread formed by the screw that was just
removed.
9. Use a small screw (from the new pack) and use it to fi t the supporting lug
to the left of the DC input socket. Do not tighten.
10. Take the other small screw (from the new pack) and use to fi t the
supporting lug above the Line-out socket. Take care not to drop the screw
into the speaker port above the headphone socket. Do not tighten.
11. Take the long screw (from the new pack) and use it to fi t the battery
support bracket above the rear loud speaker. Do not tighten.
12. Ensure that the three battery supports are fi tting snuggly to the rear
casing of the radio.
